David John Price  (1888 ~ 1950)

 

10.2.4. Fourth child of Eliza A. Adams and Francis C. Price, David John Price, was born May 28, 1888, in Spring Lake Twp., Scott Co., Minnesota, U.S.   

  He married Gertrude Elizabeth Holland, daughter of George Holland and Eliza Ann, March 20, 1920, in Lethbridge, Alberta.

 

  David J. Price died March 5, 1950, aged 61 years and Gertrude E. Holland Price died January 29, 1953, aged 75 years, in Taber, Alberta.

The marriage of Miss G. E. Holland, of Taber, formerly of Hemsworth, England, and Mr. David J. Price, of Taber was quietly solemnized on Saturday, March 20, 1920, Rev. Russell officiating. The happy couple are spending a few days in Calgary before returning to their new home in Taber. Lethbridge Herald, Mar. 22, 1920.

David J. Price

David John Price, well-known farmer in the Cromwell district south-east of Taber passed away at his residence in Taber on Sunday, March 5, 1950

  The late Mr. Price was born on May 28, 1888 in Minnesota and in 1917 moved to Canada settling in the Taber district where he farmed for thirty years.

  He married Gertrude Holland in 1920 in Lethbridge.

  The deceased had been in poor health for the past 2½ years and had been a patient in the local hospital for the past four months. He was discharged in February and after being home only ten days passed away in his sleep. Besides his widow, those left to mourn his passing are four brothers, Robert and Charles of Taber, Archie and Jerry of Langford, South Dakota and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Hanson and Mrs. Marguerite Habeck of Aberdeen, South Dakota.

  Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the United Church with Rev. John Sorochan officiating. Martin Brothers were in charge and interment was in the Taber Cemetery. Taber Times, Mar. 9, 1950.

 

Gertrude E. Holland Price

December 15, 1877 ~ February 2, 1953

Funeral services for Gertrude Elizabeth Price, 75, beloved wife of the late David J. Price, were held in the United Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Geo. Young officiating and the choir in attendance. Many friends were there including a number of friends from Lethbridge. Ole Jespersen, Clarence Jespersen, Harry McKibben, Levi McDonald, John Beauchamp acted as pallbearers. Taber Times, Feb. 5, 1953.
