Charles Henry Price  (1891 ~ 1968)

 

10.2.6. Sixth child of Eliza A. Adams and Francis Price, Charles Henry Price, was born July 29, 1891, at Langford, South Dakota, U.S.

  He married Marcella Grace Hurley, daughter of John Hurley and Mary, July 8, 1915, in Webster, Day Co., South Dakota and had three children:

 

 

  Charles H. Price died June 8, 1968, aged 76 years, in Denver, Colorado and Marcella G. Hurley Price died March 12, 1949, aged 53 years in Taber, Alberta and are interred at Taber Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Charles H. Price

Charles H. Price, of Taber passed away at Denver, Colorado on Saturday, June 8, 1968 at the age of 76 years. Born at Sisseton, South Dakota on July 29, 1891, he came to Taber with his family in 1918 and farmed south of Taber for 20 years. He then joined the staff of California Standard Oil Co. and was employed there until 1956. From 1956 to 1964, Mr. Price was the steam engineer at the Taber General Hospital.

  Predeceased by his wife, Marcella in 1949, survivors include: one son, Hurley, Taber; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Rose) Coombes, Taber; Mrs. Joe (Devota) Godfrey, Sunset House, Alta.; one brother, Jerry, Aberdeen, S.D.; one sister, Mrs. Helen Hanson, Aberdeen, S.D.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

  Prayers were said in Humphries’ Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m.

  Funeral services were conducted from St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in Taber on Wednesday, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Father C. J. Lyons officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Gardens.

  Pallbearers were: John Fettig, Walter Jensen, John Ressler, Robert Paterson, George Miller and Lynn Winbourne. Taber Times, June 12, 1968.

 

Marcella G. Hurley Price

March 11, 1896 ~ March 12, 1949

Mrs. Marcella Price, 53, beloved wife of Charles H. Price of Taber, passed away at the Taber municipal hospital on Saturday, March 12, 1949 of a heart condition. She was born in Iowa on March 11, 1896, and came to Canada 31 years ago. She was a member of the Roman Catholic church.

  Funeral services were conducted by Father Lyons from the Catholic church at Taber on Monday, March 14, interment being in the family plot at the Taber cemetery. Humphries Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Lethbridge Herald, Mar. 26, 1949.
