10.7.2.1. First child of Leana Linton and Harvey W. Eddy, Walter Victor Eddy, was born January 22, 1922, Colborne, Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

He married Violet Geraldine Dainard, daughter of Samuel Jenkins Dainard and Maud Ellen Fairman, August 24, 1940, in Hastings, Ontario and had four children:

Walter V. Eddy died October 22, 1995, aged 73 years, in Cobourg, Ontario and Violet G. Dainard Eddy died December 30, 1991, aged 70 years in Toronto, Ontario and are interred at Castleton Cemetery.

Eddy—Dainard

A quiet wedding took place on Saturday afternoon, August 24, 1940 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church manse, by the Rev. D. K. Perrie, when Violet Dainard, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Dainard, became the bride of Walter Eddy, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Eddy of Alnwick Township. Attendants weer Miss Jean Dainard, sister of the bride, and Mr. Cecil Robins of Roseneath.

Following the wedding ceremony, the young couple motored to the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Fairman, of Campbellford, where a wedding dinner was served. Later they left for their honeymoon to be spent in Toronto and Cobourg. On their return they will reside near Burnley. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Sept. 5, 1940.

At Cobourg General Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 1995, in his 74th year, Walter Victor Eddy, husband of the late Violet Geraldine Dainard. Loving father of Paul and his wife Betty of Cobourg, Jim and his wife Gail of Brighton, Mary and her husband David Bertin of Cobourg and Burnett (Pete) and his wife Judy of Colborne. Dear grandfather of Donald and his wife Phyllis, Scott and his wife Sharon, Wendy and her husband Jamie Smith, Rebecca and her husband Rob McDonald, Rene, Kim, Chad and Duane. Great grandfather of Christine, Benjamin, Jessica, Jeremy, Dana, Ashley, Lindsey and Justin. Sadly missed by his dear friend Dorothy McCaughan. Funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 11 King St. W., Colborne, on Tuesday, October 24 at 2 o’clock. Interment Castleton Cemetery. Loving daughter of Jean Gray of Trenton and the late Gordon Gray. Dear mother of Kimberly Eddy and her friend Jack Juby of R.R.3, Brighton. Loving grandmother of Ashley, Lindsey and Cody.
