Archie Linton (1902 ~ 1972)
10.7.6. Sixth child of Maria I. Adams and James D. Linton, Archie Linton, was born March 10, 1902, in Alnwick Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.
He married Maggie Viola Mason, daughter of Oscar Arnold Mason and Nora Lavinia Outwater, September 1, 1926, in Norwood, Ontario and had four children:

Archie Linton died July 24, 1972, aged 70 years, and Maggie V. Mason Linton died September 6, 1988, aged 82 years in Roseneath, Ontario, and is interred at Merrill’s Cemetery.

Archie Linton
A respected resident of Alnwick Township, Archie Linton of R.R.1, Roseneath, passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, July 25, 1972 in his 71st year.
Born in Alnwick Township, where he lived his entire life, he was the son of the late James Linton and former late Isobel Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Mason, and three sons James of Cobourg, Leo of Roseneath and Glenford at home. He was predeceased by Arnold. He has ten grand-children and three great-grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Lena) Eddy, R.R.5, Colborne and Mrs. Alfred (Elizan) Eddy of Pacifica, Calif., U.S.A. and one brother Sidney of Havelock. Predeceased by three sisters, Martha, Lizzie and Flossie.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 27, 1972 at 2 p.m. in Roseneath United Church. Rev. R. N. Sweeney conducted the service.
Pallbearers were Charles Hogg, James Gray, Clifford Broadworth, Wellington Dowler, Fred Lewis and James Thompson.
Flower bearers were James Timlin, Earl and Edgar Braithwaite, Ross McCracken, Ray Brown, Clarence Thackeray, Gordon and Frank Adams. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Aug. 9, 1972.

At Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 6, 1988, Viola Mason, in her 83rd year, wife of the late Archie Linton. Dear mother of Glenford and his wife Doris, R.R.1, Roseneath; Leo and his wife Lois, R.R.1, Hastings and the late James and Arnold Linton. Mother-in-law of Lois Linton, Cobourg. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Oscar, Clayton, Stanley Mason, Reta Owens and Leta McCaw. Resting at the Slater-Joliffe Funeral Home, Warkworth, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Service at the Roseneath United Church on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Charles Love officiating. Interment at Merrill’s Cemetery, Roseneath. If desired donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Cobourg Daily Star, Sept. 6, 1988.
