10.7.6.1. First child of Archie Linton and M. Viola Mason, James Archie Linton, was born June 16, 1927, in Roseneath, Alnwick Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

He married Lois Marie Dowler, daughter of John Wellington Dowler and Ruby Aileen Thackeray, May 24, 1947, in Roseneath, Ontario and had two children:

James A. Linton died July 12, 1985, aged 58 years, and Lois M. Dowler Linton died January 6, 2011, aged 80 years in Cobourg, Ontario, and are interred at Centenary Cemetery.

At the Cobourg Hospital on July 12, 1985, James Archie Linton, beloved husband of Lois Marie Dowler, R.R.6, Cobourg. Dear father of Elizabeth (Betty), (Mrs. Don Marriott) of Harwood and Wayne Linton of Roseneath. Beloved son of Mrs. Viola Linton of Roseneath and the late Archie Linton. Dear brother of Leo, R.R.1, Hastings and Glenford, Roseneath. Predeceased by Arnold. Loving grandfather of six grandchildren and pre-deceased by one grandson, Evan Linton. Funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Monday, July 15 at 2 p.m. Interment Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Brethren of Hastings Masonic Lodge will meet at the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. for a memorial service. Suddenly at the Cobourg Retirement Residence on Thursday, January 6, 2011, Lois Marie Linton in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late James Linton. Loving mother of Betty Marriott-Molenaar (Jacob) and Wayne Linton (Barb). Dear grandmother of Kim Crawford (Mark), Jeanette Tackaberry (Steve), Darcy Linton, Penny Marriott (Aaron Whitney), Jody Marriott (Sherri), Krista McCrory (Wayne) and the late Evan, and great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Kenneth Dowler. Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday, January 10th from 1-2 p.m. at the Roseneath United Church followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Evan Wayne Linton, age 13, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 18, 1982. Beloved son of Wayne Linton, Roseneath; Mary and John Stillwell, Cobourg. Dear brother of Krista, at home. Also survived by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ferguson, R.R.4, Roseneath; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Linton, R.R.6, Cobourg. Several aunts and uncles.
