Sidney Linton (1907 ~ 1988)
10.7.7. Seventh child of Maria I. Adams and James D. Linton, Sidney Linton, was born July 28, 1907, in Roseneath, Alnwick Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.
He married Lottie Viola Kavanagh, daughter of Francis John Kavanagh and Emma Catherine Wescott, June 19, 1926, in Norwood, Peterborough Co., Ontario and had two children:

Sidney Linton died September 19, 1988, aged 81 years, in Belleville, Ontario and Lottie V. Kavanagh Linton died December 30, 1929, aged 23 years, in Alnwick Twp., Ontario and is interred at Merrill's Cemetery.

Sidney Linton

Sidney Linton passed away on September 19, 1988 at Belleville Hospital in his 81st year. He was born in Alnwick Twp., Northumberland County, and was a lifetime resident of the locality. He was the son of James and Maria Linton. He is survived by his daughter Marie Edna Lee of R.R.2, Lakefield, Ontario and was predeceased by daughter Elva Irene. He leaves sister Elizan Eddy of Rochester, and was predeceased by brothers and sisters Archie Linton, Elizabeth Taylor, Lena Eddy, Flossie Davis and Martha Wilson. He leaves grandchildren Sheila (Mrs. Lawrence Winn) of Norwood, Mrs. LaVonne Huffman of Lakefield, Mrs. Diana White of Peterborough, Miss Cindy Lee of Havelock, Mr. Calvin Lee of Hastings, and Mr. Raymond Lee of Peterborough; and great grandchildren Eric Huffman, Jason Huffman, Gordon Feeley, Bobby Feeley, Robbie Thompson, Angela Thompson, Clifford Winn, Victoria Winn and Rebecca Winn. The funeral was held on Thursday, September 22nd at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Tandy officiating. Interment was at Merill Cemetery, Roseneath. Pallbearers were Lawrence Winn, Calvin Lee, Raymond Lee, Jason Huffman, Clifford Winn and Glenford Coles. Norwood Community Press, Sept. 27, 1988.
Lottie V. Kavanagh Linton
July 1, 1906 ~ December 30, 1929
The funeral of the late Mrs. Sidney Linton was held from her late residence, at 2 o’clock Thursday, January 2, 1930, to Merrills Cemetery, where interment was made. The service at the house and at the grave was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Bell of the United Church of Hastings, whose words were of hope, comfort and inspiration to the many assembled, but especially to those near and dear ones, who so sadly mourn the loss of a loved one.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Linton leaves two little girls of three years, and the baby seven months, to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
The pallbearers were Messrs. Alex Spiers, Allan Braithwaite, Harvie Eddy, Cephas Brown, Clarence Thackeray and James Timlin. Cobourg World, Jan. 9, 1930.
