----- OBITUARY -----

Gordon I. Wright

Gordon Irwin Wright, eight year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wright, Lot 10, Concession 13, Tecumseth, met with a fatal accident on Friday evening last, September 13, 1918. The previous evening he was playing in the barn with a cousin, Willie Hay, of Parry Sound, who was visiting him, when he fell through a trap door to the concrete floor of the stable, sustaining a terrible injury to his head. Medical aid was hastily summoned and it was found that the unfortunate boy’s skull had been crushed. No hope for his recovery was entertained, and he passed away twenty-four hours afterwards without regaining consciousness. Bright, happy and cheerful, Gordon carried sunshine with him wherever he went. He had always a smile and a pleasant word for his friends. His tragic death comes as a dark shadow to friends and to his relatives who loved him so dearly. The funeral took place on Sunday to Alliston Union Cemetery, Rev. A. B. Hames and Rev. Mr. Cree conducting the services. The sympathy of the community goes out the the bereaved ones. Beeton World, Sept. 18, 1918.
