James Hamilton Wright  (1889 ~ 1962)

 

2.2.1.2. Second child of Annie Ranson and William H. Wright, James Hamilton Wright, was born August 31, 1889, in Lutterworth Twp., Haliburton Co., Ontario. 

  He married Laura Mildred Graham, daughter of John Alexander Graham and Margaret Murphy, on July 19, 1930, in Alliston, Ontario and had one child:

 

  • (2.2.1.2.1)  Annie Laurine  (1932 ~ 1981) 

 

  James H. Wright died October 14, 1962, aged 73 years, in Barrie, Ontario and Laura M. Graham Wright died August 15, 1976, aged 80 years in Stayner, Ontario and are interred at Alliston Union Cemetery.

James H. Wright

Funeral service for James Hamilton Wright, 74, who died in the Royal Victoria Hospital, October 14, 1962, was held at Hughes’ Funeral Home in Cookstown.

  He is survived by his wife, Laura, daughter Laurine, mother, five sisters and three brothers.

  His mother is Mrs. W. H. Wright, of Alliston. Sisters are: Mrs. R. J. Anderson, Toronto; Mrs. Thomas Cartwright, Toronto; Mrs. Sadie Leetch, Thornton; Mrs. Cecil McMulkin, Barrie, and Mrs. James McDermott of Alliston. Brothers are William of Cookstown, Sydney of Collingwood and Joseph of Beeton.

  Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Davies of Cookstown United Church. Interment was at the Alliston Union Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Lorne Shelswell, Roy Bowen, Bruce Duncan, Arthur Glass, Frank Mumberson and Harry Thompson, all of Cookstown. Barrie Examiner, Nov. 22, 1962.

 

Laura M. Graham Wright

July 19, 1896 ~ August 15, 1976

Ill for a short time, Laura Mildred Wright of Barrie, widow of James H. Wright, died in Sweet Briar Lodge Nursing Home, Stayner on August 15, 1976, in her 81st year. 

  Born at Everett she was the last of the eight children of John and Margaret (Murphy) Graham, having been predeceased by Amanda (Mrs. John Buyers), Emmaline (Mrs. John Wilson), Phoebe (Mrs. German Holt), William, Albert, Wellington and Elmer.

  After their marriage in Alliston in 1930, Mr. and Mrs. Wright farmed in Saskatchewan for eight years, then returned to farm in the Alliston and Cookstown areas. Since her husbands death (1962) Mrs. Wright has lived in Barrie for the past 13 years. She leaves her daughter, Laurine Wright.

  The Rev. A. D. Lehman conducted the funeral in Alliston, with Ira Wilson, Ivan and Donald Wright, Floyd Moth, Frank Shaw and Eric Emerson. Burial took place in Alliston Union Cemetery. Alliston Herald, Sept. 1, 1976.

August 24, 1932 ~ June 29, 1981

At the Sweetbriar Nursing Home, Stayner, Ontario on Monday, June 29, 1981, Annie Laurine Wright, beloved daughter of the late James and Laura Wright. Resting at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home, Alliston, after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday for service in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 1, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Alliston Union Cemetery. Alliston Herald, July 1, 1981.
