Hannah Percilla Wright  (1896 ~ 1938)

 

2.2.1.6. Sixth child of Annie Ranson and William H. Wright, Hannah Percilla Wright, was born September 3, 1896, in Tosorontio Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

  She married Thomas Harvey Alderson, son of James Alderson and Jane Irving, September 14, 1917, in Alliston, Ontario and had three children:

 

  • (2.2.1.6.1)  Baby Boy  (1923 ~ 1923)   

  • (2.2.1.6.2)  Harvey Earl  (1926 ~ 1992)   

  • (2.2.1.6.3)  William James Ivan  (1930 ~ 2015)   

 

  Hannah P. Wright Alderson died September 2, 1938, aged 41 years in Alliston, Ontario and T. Harvey Alderson died May 16, 1935, aged 46 years in Toronto, Ontario and are interred at Alliston Union Cemetery.

Hannah P. Wright Alderson

An illness of some four years, terminated in the death of Mrs. Harvey Alderson in Stevenson Memorial Hospital on September 2, 1938. Every effort had been made to restore her to health but all to no avail and at the age of forty years her life terminated. Mrs. Alderson was the former Hannah Wright, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wright of town and spent her girlhood days in Tosorontio. After her marriage to Harvey Alderson she spent a number of happy years till she lost her husband and about that time her own fatal illness seized her. Mrs. Alderson is survived by her parents and two sons, Earl and Ivan, who live with an aunt in Toronto. Five sisters and four brothers also survive. They are Mrs. Robert Anderson and Mrs. Thomas Cartwright, Toronto; Mrs. Cecil McMulkin, Barrie; Mrs. William Leach, Egbert; and Mrs. James Dermott, Tosorontio; James, Sydney, William and Joseph Wright, all of these parts. The funeral took place from the home of Mrs. Alderson’s parents, Victoria Street, on September 5, 1938. The service was conducted by the Rev. John McKillop following which interment was made in the Union Cemetery, Alliston. The pallbearers were four brothers-in-law, Thomas Cartwright, William Leach, Robert Anderson and James Dermott and two brothers, Sidney Wright and Joseph WrightAlliston Herald, Sept. 29, 1938.

 

T. Harvey Alderson

August 30, 1888 ~ May 16, 1935

The remains of Thomas Harvey Alderson were brought to Alliston Friday morning. His demise had occurred in Toronto, Thursday, May 16, 1935. He had been in ill health some time. Mr. Alderson lived on the old homestead, 7th Line of Tosorontio, until a couple of years ago when his health failed and the family moved to Alliston. There was a large turnout of old neighbours and friends at the funeral. He leaves a widow and two small sons, Earl and Ivan, also his father, one brother, Marshall, and two sisters, Mrs. E. V. Callow and Mrs. J. R. Ludlow of Alliston. The funeral was from the home on Wellington street at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rev. W. M. Lee preached the sermon and Rev. P. N. Knight took part. The pall bearers were William Wright, Joe Wright, James Dermott, Russell Hood, Sherman Todd and Vern Callow. Those from a distance at the funeral were Mrs. Anderson and son, Toronto; Miss Lila Alderson, Toronto; Mr. Hugh Myers, Oshawa; Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Todd, Lefroy; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robertson, Stroud; Mr. David McLeod, Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Leeson McGowan, and Mrs. Ed. Carter, Schomberg; Mr. Jack Ramsay, Bond Head; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wright, Beeton; and Mr. and Mrs. William Leech, Thornton. Alliston Herald, May 23, 1935.

October 7, 1926 ~ October 25, 1992

At Northwestern Hospital on Sunday, October 25, 1992. Earl Alderson, beloved husband of Helen. Dear father of Linda and her husband Brian Callaghan, Gary and his wife Larraine, Richard, Sharon and her husband Jack King, Debbie and her husband Jack Westcott, and Terry. Grandfather of Brian, Jennifer, Stephanie, Christina, Angie, Candace and Holly. Brother of Ivan Alderson. Resting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Frank Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St. W. (one block east of Runnymede). Funeral Wednesday, service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Toronto Star, Oct. 27, 1992.
