2.2.3.1. First child of Robert H. Ranson and Alma M. Leary, Helena Viola Irene “Rena” Ranson, was born July 19, 1903, in Anson Twp., Haliburton Co., Ontario.

Rena Ranson died February 25, 1965, aged 62 years, in Toronto, Ontario and is interred at Minden Village Cemetery.

Irene (Rena) Ranson

Miss Irene Ranson, a life-long resident of Minden, Ont., passed away in Toronto after a long illness.

Daughter of the late Robert H. Ranson, and niece of the late Misses Sarah and Catherine Ranson, Miss Ranson attended Minden Public School and Lindsay Collegiate Institute and later taught school at Ingoldby, Ont., for several terms, after which she was employed at the Registry Office in Minden, Ont.

Due to ill health she was unable to continue working and resigned about two years ago. After several operations at the Toronto General Hospital, she went to the Queen Elizabeth Convalescent Hospital in Toronto where she died on Thursday, February 25, 1965.

Miss Ranson is survived by one sister, Mrs. A. M. Adams (Laura) of St. Catharines, Ont. Minden Hills Museum Newspaper Clippings.
