A delightful golden wedding anniversary event took place Monday at the family residence, 27 Glenelg Street East, when Mr. and Mrs. William J. Ranson were singularly honored. Fifty years ago the marriage was solemnized at Minden of the former Miss Maud Snell and William Ranson and after a number of years spent on the farm on the old Scotch Line Mr. and Mrs. Ranson moved to Lindsay thirty years and the Ranson family has been highly respected and esteemed residents of Lindsay ever since.
The function Monday was attended by a large concourse of friends from Minden, Lindsay and district who had ample opportunity to congratulate the honoured couple at open house in the afternoon and evening. Several messages of congratulations were received from friends unable to attend.
During the reception the guests partook if a beautiful wedding cake and dainty refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Ranson were happy in the presence of members of the immediate family, four daughters and three sons, including: Norman of Winnipeg; Ray of Toronto and Doris, Myrtle, Helen, Agnes and Phil, of Lindsay.
