Raymond William Snell Ranson (1909 ~ 1972)

 

2.4.3.1. First child of William James Ranson and Maud Eveline Snell, Raymond William Snell Ranson, was born March 19, 1909, in Anson Twp., Haliburton Co., Ontario.

  He married Nellie Amy Allen, daughter of Henry Allen and Kate Vinten, on August 8, 1947, in Toronto, Ontario and had three children:

  • (2.4.3.1.2)  Raymond Douglas  (1950 ~ 2008) 

  • (2.4.3.1.3)  Andrew David  (1953 ~ 1993) 

 

  Raymond W. Ranson died December 10, 1972, aged 63 years in Toronto, Ontario and Nellie A. Allen Ranson died October 4, 2002, aged 89 years in Minden, Ontario and are interred at Minden Village Cemetery.

At the Doctors’ Hospital, Toronto, Sunday, December 10, 1972, Raymond William Snell Ranson, of 185 Seaton St., Toronto in his 64th year, beloved husband of Nellie Allen, dear father of William, of Dartmouth, N.S., Douglas of Ottawa, and Andrew of Toronto, brother of Agnes (Mrs. Quibell), Doris (Mrs. Brasier), Helen and Myrtle all of Lindsay, Ont., Phillip of Sutton, Norman of Chatham, and Douglas predeceased. Resting at the funeral chapel of John Welch and Son, Minden, until Wednesday, December 12, thence to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, for service at 2 p.m. Temporary interment Ingoldsby Cemetery Vault. Toronto Star, Dec. 12, 1972.

 

Nellie A. Allen Ranson

December 26, 1912 ~ October 4, 2002

Nellie Ranson (Resident of Hyland Crest Senior Citizen Home, Minden) Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Friday, October 4, 2002, in her 90th year.

 Predeceased by her husband Raymond of Minden. Mother of William of Newfound-land, Douglas of Orangeville and predeceased by her son, David of Minden. Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law, her grandchildren, her great-granddaughter and by their families. Loving sister-in-law of Helen Ranson of Lindsay. Friends were invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main St., Minden (1-888-588-5777) on Monday, October 7, 2002, from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 8, 2002 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Minden Cemetery. A. David Ranson

April 22, 1953 ~ November 20, 1993

Suddenly at Minden Hospital on Saturday, November 20, 1993 in his 41st year. David Ranson, beloved husband of Marilyn, loving father of Lisa and Raymond both at home. Dear son of Nellie Ranson of Minden and the late Raymond Ranson and brother of Bill of Newfoundland and Doug of Toronto. Rested at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home, 127 Main Street, Minden on Monday. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Tuesday November 23 at 11 a.m. Cremation. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Toronto Star, Nov. 22, 1993.

 

R. Douglas Ranson

June 1, 1950 ~ October 8, 2008

Douglas Raymond Ranson passed away suddenly at his home in Orangeville on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in his 59th year; loving spouse and best friend of Fred Searl; loving brother of Bill and his wife Leslie and David (1993) and his wife Marilyn; brother-in-law of Ruby Ranson; cherished uncle of Angela, Lisa, Sara, Andrew, Ray, Paul, and Matthew; great-uncle of Stacey and Andrew. Douglas will be sadly missed by his other relatives and friends.
