Margaret Louisa Doris Ranson  (1913 ~ 1984)

 

2.4.3.3. Third child of William James Ranson and Maud Eveline Snell, Margaret Louisa 'Doris' Ranson, was born July 13, 1913, in Anson Twp., Haliburton Co., Ontario.

 She married Walter JamesDickBrasier, son of Stephen Samuel Brasier and Amelia Florence Coe, on September 3, 1938, in Toronto, Ontario and had three children:

  • (2.4.3.3.2)  Shirley Eveline  (1942 ~ 2020

  • (2.4.3.3.3)  Murray Lloyd  (1945 ~ 2008) 

 

  M. L. Doris Ranson Brasier died July 26, 1984, aged 71 years in Lindsay, Ontario and Walter J. “DickBrasier died August 7, 1988, aged 80 years in Belleville, Ontario and are interred at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay, Ontario.

Rev. A. J. Goldring officiated at the wedding at St. Paul’s Church Saturday afternoon of Margaret Louisa Doris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Ranson, to Mr. Walter James Brasier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Brasier.

  The bride wore a gown of navy blue sheer, trimmed with light blue, and matching bolero jacket. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The bride’s sister, Miss Myrtle Ranson, was bridesmaid, wearing a gown of navy sheer trimmed with white and carrying a bouquet of rose carnations. The bridesgroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Sam Brasier.

  A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and later Mr. and Mrs. Brasier left on a motor trip to Ottawa. For travelling, the bride wore a navy tweed suit, matching hats and accessories. They will reside in Lindsay. Lindsay Post, Sept. 6, 1938.

M. L. Doris Ranson Brasier

Doris Brasier, of Lindsay, passed away in her 72nd year Thursday, July 26, 1984 at Ross Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

  A resident in the locality for 57 years, Mrs. Brasier formerly lived in Haliburton Township.

  She was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church having been involved with the St. Paul’s A.C.W. and also with the Ladies Auxiliary for the Canadian Legion, the Rebecca Lodge, and the Eastern Star.

  Survived by her husband W. J. (Dick) Brasier, she is also lovingly remembered by her children Jim, Murray, and Shirley (Mrs. Gordon Erwin) all of Lindsay.

  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and other family Agnes (Mrs. Jack Quibell), Myrtle, Helen, and Philip Ranson, all of Lindsay, and Norman of Chatham. Predeceased by Doug and Raymond.

  The funeral was held on July 30 at the Mackey Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with interment at Riverside Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Bob Hartley and Mrs. Jean Lummiss of St. Paul’s Anglican.

  Pallbearers were Randy Lewis, John Davy, Tim Stone, Ross Tremeer, Vern Henry, and Harry Everett. Lindsay Post, Aug. 8, 1984.

 

Walter J. Brasier

July 16, 1908 ~ August 7, 1988

Walter James DickBrasier of 12 Dominion Dr., Lindsay, passed away in Belleville, Ont., on Sunday, August 7, 1988, at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Ranson and dear father of Jim, Shirley (Mrs. Gordon Erwin) and Murray all of Lindsay. Dearly remembered grandfather of Tim, Brian, Teresa, Joanne, Scott, Lisa and Michael Brasier, and brother of Frank, Lillian (Mrs. Walter Gosling) and Florence (Mrs. Bill Mosley) all of Lindsay, Dave of Fenelon Falls, Margie (Mrs. Paul Gassien) of Dunsford, Leonard of Whitby, Charles of Perth, Albert of Burlington, also Sam, Bill and Steve predeceased.

  Dick Brasier was born in Lindsay, the son of the late Stephen and Amelia Brasier. He had resided all his life in Lindsay and was retired at the time of his death.

  He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Lindsay, and was a member of the Brethren of Lindsay Lodge I.O.O.F. Kawartha Rebekah Lodge 75.

  The funeral service was held on August 11, at 1:30 p.m. from the Mackey Funeral Home in Lindsay.  Rev. Bob Hartley of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Lindsay officiated the service with interment at Riverside Cemetery. The pallbearers were Vern Henry, Connie O’Neill, Tom Cook, Harry Everett, Bob Lewis and Ross Tremeer. Lindsay Post, Aug. 31, 1988.

 

James M. Brasier

August 21, 1940 ~ February 12, 2005

James Maxwell Brasier entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Saturday, February 12, 2005Jim Brasier, in his 65th year, was the beloved husband of Noreen Tully. Much loved father of Tim and his wife Karen of Lindsay, Brian and his wife Carla of Sutton, Teresa (Mrs. Glen Lockhart) and Joanne Brasier and Derrick Smith all of Lindsay. Treasured grandpa of Kent, Brittany and Jessica Brasier, Devin, Alessandra and Eric Brasier, Haydann, Nathan and Larissa Lockhart and Maxeen, Albert, George and Derrick Smith Jr. Predeceased by his parents Dick and Doris Brasier. Dear brother of Murray Brasier and his wife Linda and Shirley Erwin all of Lindsay and predeceased by his brother-in-law Gord Erwin. Lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill St., Lindsay on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Mary’s Church, Lindsay on Wednesday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lindsay. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. All members of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1124, Lindsay are asked to attend.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund or the Ross Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Murray L. Brasier

August 1, 1945 ~ May 11, 2008

It is with great sadness the family announces Murray Lloyd Brasier's passing on Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Murray Brasier, in his 63rd year, was the beloved husband of Linda (Kelly) Brasier for 41 years. Loving father of Scott (Lianne) Brasier, Lisa (Richard) De Geer and Michael (Jacinda) Brasier. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Colton and Sarah Lynn and Kaitlyn and Jason. Predeceased by his brother James M. Brasier. Lovingly remembered by his sister Shirley Erwin and sister-in-law Noreen Brasier. Brother-in-law of Dianne and Don Ireland, Joanne and Phillip Rittenhouse, Doug and Wendy Kelly and Bonnie and Vern Gonsalvas. Murray was the son of W. J. (Dick) and Doris Brasier. Visitation at the Mackey Funeral  Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 15th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Following cremation, interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.
