Thomas Stewart Ranson (1890 ~ 1968)
2.4.8. Eighth child of William Ranson and Elizabeth Coburn, Thomas Stewart Ranson, was born December 16, 1890, in Anson Twp., Haliburton Co., Ontario.
He married Alma Mary Hazelton, daughter of George Hazelton and Lucy Ann Shannon, September 14, 1927, Peterborough, Ontario and had three children:

Thomas S. Ranson died March 13, 1968, aged 77 years and Alma M. Hazelton Ranson died January 19, 1981, aged 78 years in Mississauga, Ontario and are interred at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery.

Ranson—Hazelton
One of the prettiest of Fall weddings was solemnized at George Street United Church parsonage, Peterboro, on Wednesday, September 14, 1927. The contracting parties were Miss Alma Hazelton, graduate nurse of Nicholls Hospital, Peterboro, and Mr. Thomas S. Ranson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ranson, Russell Street, town.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Todd, pastor of George Street Church, in the presence of immediate friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ranson left on a motor trip and on their return will reside on McDonald Street, Peterboro.

At the South Peel Hospital, on Wednesday, March 13, 1968, Thomas Stewart Ranson (retired C.N.R. conductor), beloved husband of Alma Hazelton, dear father of Mrs. Betty Evans of Toronto; Allan of Cooksville and Ronald of Edmonton, Alta., brother of Mrs. G. Baldwin (Margaret) and William, of Lindsay, Robert of Minden and Arnott Ranson, of Montreal. Loved by 6 grandchildren. Resting at the Turner and Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, (Hwy. 10 at Q.E.W.), from 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service ten o’clock Saturday morning. Interment St. John’s Dixie Cemetery. Toronto Star, Mar. 14, 1968.

October 28, 1902 ~ January 19, 1981
Suddenly on Monday, January 19, 1981, at Mississauga General Hospital, Alma Mary Hazelton, dearly loved wife of the late Thomas S. Ranson, loving mother of Allan Ranson and Bette Evans, also loved by six grandchildren. A private service took place on Wednesday afternoon followed by cremation. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Toronto Star, Jan. 22, 1981.
