----- MARRIAGE -----

Ranson—Chun

In Trinity Memorial Church, the marriage took place on Saturday afternoon, at half-past one o’clock, of Ann Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chun, of Notre Dame de Grace, to Kenneth George Ranson, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Ranson, of Hampstead, the Rev. Canon R. Kenneth Naylor officiating. Mr. C. V. Frayn played the wedding music, and members of the boy’s choir sang during the service. Yellow and blue iris and yellow gladioli were used to decorate.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was in a gown of Chantilly lace over ivory faille taffeta, the bodice fashioned with a high petal neckline, and sleeves ending in points over her hands, and the bouffant skirt falling into a slight train. Her veil of tulle illusion was held by a tiny coronet of seed pearls, and she carried a cascade bouquet of white gladioli and lily of the valley.

Miss Clarie Simons, as maid of honor, and Miss Catherine Henderson and Miss Sandra Ranson, as bridesmaids, were in frocks of royal blue organza over lavender blue taffeta, with pleated taffeta bodices having organza boleros, and bouffant skirts. They wore matching feather bandeaux, and carried Colonial bouquets of blue iris and pale yellow carnations.

Mr. William Ranson acted as best man for his brother, and the ushers were Mr. David Lawrence and Mr. Ralph Harper.

Mrs. Chun, the bride’s mother, was gowned in Dior blue pure silk shantung. She wore a matching hat, Dior blue accessories, and a corsage bouquet of white hyacinth bells.

Mrs. Ranson, mother of the bridegroom, was in a gown of navy blue French crepe, with a pink hat, and a corsage bouquet of pink Sweetheart roses.

The reception was held in the Beckley Hotel were yellow and blue iris were used as decorations.

Later, Mr. and Mrs. Ranson left by plane for New York and Washington, the bride travelling in a blue tweed suit, under a grey kidskin jacket, and wearing a navy blue and white straw hat, with matching accessories. Montréal Gazette, Mar. 2, 1954.
