----- MARRIAGE -----
Ranson—McLean
The marriage of Sandra Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Arnott Ranson, of Hampstead, to Mr. Gordon Morgan McLean, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon McLean, of Toronto, took place yesterday afternoon, at three o’clock, in St. Matthew’s Church, Hampstead, the Rev. Stanley Andrews officiating. Mr. Henscliffe played the wedding music, and Mr. Robert Peters sang during the signing of the register. White gladioli and chrysanthemums were used to decorate the church.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was in a gown of ivory silk faille, fashioned on princess lines with a fitted bodice having a scooped neckline, sleeves ending in points over the hands, and a bell-shaped skirt, falling into a chapel train. Her veil of tulle illusion was held by a single rose matching faille, and she carried a cascade bouquet of ivory roses, white pompoms, gardenias and heather.
Miss Margot Wright, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Peter Mitchell, Miss Marilyn McLean, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Kenneth G. Ranson, sister-in-law of the bride, as attendants, were in frocks of Florentine green silk faille, fashioned with fitted bodices having sabrina necklines, three-quarter sleeves, and tulip-shaped skirts. They were cabbage rose headdresses of matching faille, and carried semi-cascade bouquets of autumn chrysanthemums.
Mr. William Earl acted as best man for Mr. McLean, and the ushers were Mr. William A. Ranson and Mr. Kenneth G. Ranson, brothers of the bride, and Mr. Myron Rudiak.
Mrs. Ranson, the bride’s mother, was in a gown of moss green poult de sole. She wore a matching feather hat, and a corsage bouquet of beige cymbidium orchids fastened to her handbag.
Mrs. McLean, mother of the bridegroom, was gowned in beige brocade. She wore a hat in shades of green, beige accessories, and a corsage bouquet of dark pink cymbidium orchids.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Montreal Badminton and Squash Club, where yellow roses and white shasta chrysanthemums were used to decorate. Later, Mr. and Mrs. McLean left for Bermuda, the bride travelling in a suit of charcoal grey wool, and wearing a hat of rose velvet and feathers, black accessories, and a corsage bouquet of white cymbidium orchids.
