4.2.1.1. First child of Jennie O. Adams and John H. Steer, Margaret Addelda Steer, was born April 25, 1915, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario.
She married Francis McLaughlin, son of Francis McLaughlin and Rebecca Neil Fullerton, October 16, 1937, in Windsor, Essex Co., Ontario, and had two children:

Margaret A. Steer McLaughlin died November 27, 2002, aged 87 years, in Lexington, Michigan and Francis McLaughlin died June 22, 1981, aged 73 years, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and are interred at Lexington Cemetery.

Margaert A. Steer McLaughlin
Margaret A. McLaughlin, age 87, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born April 25, 1915, in Midland, Ontario, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Steer.
She married Francis McLaughlin, October 16, 1937 in Windsor, Ontario. He died June 22, 1981.
She was a bookkeeper at Parke-Davis Co. for many years.
She is survived by a son, Robert F. (Shirley) McLaughlin of Sterling Heights; daughter, Patricia McLaughlin of Clinton Twp.; brothers, Jack Steer of Toronto; Bernard and Robert Steer both of Windsor; sisters, Janet Wilson of Windsor; Catherine Pouquet of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell. Rev. Barry Sheldon, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church officiated.
Memorial may be made to Make a Wish Foundation. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements by Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell. Sanilac County News, Dec. 4, 2002.
Francis McLaughlin
September 9, 1907 ~ June 22, 1981
Francis McLaughlin, 73, of 5203 Main St., Lexington, died unexpectedly Monday, June 22, 1981, in Bon Secours Hospital, Grosse Pointe.
He was born September 9, 1907, in Scotland. He married Margaret Steer, October 16, 1937, in Windsor, Ontario.
Mr. McLaughlin worked in the shipping department of the Reef Baker Co.
He is also survived by his wife; a son, Robert F., Sterling Heights; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Patricia) Smagghe, Roseville; two brothers, John, New Baltimore, and Louis, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Davey and Mrs. Jenny Snider, both of St. Clair Shores; and five grandchildren.
Services were held in the Pomery Funeral Home, Lexington. The Rev. David P. Boone of the Christ Lutheran Church, Sterling Heights, officiated. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery. Sandusky Republican Tribune, July 1, 1981.
