John Robert Adams (1923 ~ 1945)
4.2.2.2. Second child of W. Munroe Adams and Lila V. Scott, John Robert “Jack” Adams, was born December 22, 1923, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario.
John R. “Jack” Adams died February 27, 1945, aged 21 years, in France and is interred at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Groesbeek, Netherlands.

KILLED IN ACTION

Mr. and Mrs. Munroe Adams, Wyebridge, have been notified by the Director of Records at Ottawa that thier son, Pte. John R. Adams (B-143472), was killed in action while serving overseas.
Jack, who was 21 years of age, went to school at Wyebridge and attended the Presbyterian Church. He helped his father on the farm, then enlisted at Midland, March 1, 1943. After being in Toronto for about a month he was sent to Simcoe, London and Debert, arriving overseas in October, 1944.
There are four brothers, Bill at Camp Borden; Douglas, Gerald and Beverly, at home; also one sister, Vera, at home. Barrie Examiner, Mar. 15, 1945.
