St. Andrews Church, Wyebridge, was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday, [August 24, 1946] when Vera May, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Munroe Adams, became the bride of Douglas Harold Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nichols, Ebenezer. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Taylor Munroe, and the church was prettily decorated with sweet peas and gladiolas.

Mrs. William Eakley, the soloist, was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Kenneth Hounsome.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of blue pink satin with a floor length veil and carried pink and red roses. The maid of honour, Kathleen Nichols, sister of the groom, wore blue embroidered net over taffeta and carried gladiolas. The bridesmaid, Miss Helen Hounsome, wore blue taffeta and carried gladiolas. The groom was attended by Douglas Adams, brother of the bride. Ushers were Kenneth Nichols and Orvil Fagan.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents where the bride’s mother received wearing a fuschia wool crepe dress with corsage of white gladiolas, assisted by the groom’s mother who wore a blue crepe dress with fuschia coat.

For traveling to Vancouver, the bride donned a dusty rose dress with brown check top coat and brown accessories. They will make their home at Ebenezer.

Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Fagan, Stayner, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fagan, Toronto, Bill McCraig, Bill Mitchell, Shanty Bay, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Roeduck. Midland Free Press, Aug. 28, 1946.
