4.2.3.6. Sixth child of William H. Elford and Mary E. Webster, Ada Adelaide Elford, was born October 1, 1879, in Hampton, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
Ada A. Elford died February 16, 1938, aged 58 years, in Selkirk, Manitoba and is interred at Carman Cemetery.

Funeral service for Miss Ada Adelaide Elford, who died February 16, 1938, was held at Wesley United Church, Carman, on February 18, Rev. Wm. Keall conducted the service. Interment was made in Carman cemetery. Friends acting as pallbearers were F. E. Clark, Wm. Garnett, R. H. B. North, A. W. Miller, W. J. Anger and Fred Hobbs.
Miss Elford was a native of Ontario, born at Hampton, October 1, 1879. When she was a child her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Elford, moved to Manitoba and located their new home in Carman district, and their daughter attended school and received her teacher’s certificate here. After teaching for some time she held a position for a few years in the Carnegie Library, Toronto. Returning to the west, she taught school in Saskatchewan for a time and then went to the United States. There she taught for many years in the state of Utah. Miss Elford always was deeply interested in educational matters.
She is survived by two brothers and three sisters, F. W. and R. T. Elford and Mrs. W. Shuttleworth of Carman, and Mrs. T. G. Finn of Hollyburn, B.C., and Mrs. M. L. Burbank of New York. Bowmanville Statesman, Mar. 3, 1938.
