Annie Elford

July 15, 1885 ~ June 20, 1926

Miss Annie Elford, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Elford, passed peacefully away Sunday morning, June 20, 1926, in the Carman Hospital, where she had been under treatment for several months. With the hope of saving her life an operation was performed from which she appeared to be making satisfactory recovery, when the end came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Miss Elford was born in the Carman district, July 15, 1885, and has lived here all her life. She leaves to mourn her loss her father and mother and three brothers, Frank of Winnipeg; Fred and Russell of Carman; and four sisters, Mrs. Finn of Morden, Mrs. Burbank of New York, Miss Ada of Salt Lake City, and Miss Hilda at home.

The death of Miss Elford is the first break in the family of her parents, who have been married more then half a century.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, June 22, service at the family residence being conducted by Rev. H. M. Lyon. The service was attended by a large number of friends, who afterwards accompanied the cortege to Carman cemetery, where interment was made. The pall bearers were Messrs. D. H. Pritchard, Jas. Swanton, Arthur Miller, Wm. Garnett, N. A. Love and D. McIver. Carman Dufferin Leader, June 24, 1926.
