Robert Hambly Rogers  (1899 ~ 1969)

 

4.2.4.7. Seventh child of Elizabeth A. Elford and Charles Rogers, Robert Hambly Rogers, was born June 13, 1899, in Whitby Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario. (adopted nephew)

  He married (1) Hildegard Lina Thalmann, daughter of Wilhelm Erdmann Reinhard Thalmann and Ella Staedler, October 28, 1926, in San Francisco, California, U.S. and had one child:

 

  • (4.2.4.7.1)  Jane Eleanor  (1927 ~ 1987)  

 

  He married (2) Orpha Ellen Shoup Steiner, daughter of James Romanus Shoup and Maggie Magdelena Buss, June 26, 1965, in Santa Barbara, California.

  Robert H. Rogers died January 13, 1969, aged 69 years, and Hildegard L. Thalmann Rogers died October 2, 1964, aged 69 years in Sonoma, California, U.S.

Robert H. Rogers

June 13, 1899 ~ January 13, 1969

Sonoma. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday for Robert H. Rogers, 69, who died Monday at his home, 137 Temelec Circle.

  Mr. Rogers was a native of Ontario, Canada, and lived four and a half years in Sonoma Valley. He was a retail merchant for 35 years in San Francisco prior to his retirement.

  He was the first president of the Temelec Country Club.

  He is survived by his wife, Orpha Rogers, Sonoma; by his daughter, Jane McLaren, Maryland; by his sisters, Mrs. Mabel Holmes, Tracy; Mrs. Ella Morrison, Canada; Mrs. Winifred Van Nest, San Francisco; and six grandchildren.

  Services will be at the chapel of Bates, Evans and Fehrensen. Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Jan. 15, 1969.

 

Hildegard L. Thalmann Rogers

February 19, 1895 ~ October 2, 1964

Sonoma. Private funeral services were held yesterday for Hildegard Lena Rogers, who was found dead Friday morning in Temelec.

Mrs. Rogers had been under a doctor’s care.

  She was born in Berlin, Germany. She lived here since July. She was a retired librarian, having served in San Francisco libraries.

  She was the wife of Robert H. Rogers, Sonoma; mother of Mrs. Jane Rogers McLaren, Maryland; the sister of Mrs. Lucia Hobrecht, Germany. She also leaves two grandchildren.

  Services were held in the chapel of Bates, Evans & Fehrensen. Burial was private. Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Oct. 4, 1964.
