Arthur Byron Elford  (1857 ~ 1905)

 

4.2.8. Eighth child of William Elford and Charlotte Merkley, Arthur 'Byron' Elford, was born March 1, 1857, in Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

  He married Catherine Marion Deschamps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Deschamps, April 30, 1890, in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, U.S.

  A. Byron Elford died October 26, 1905, aged 46 years in Birmingham, Alabama, U.S. and is interred at Elmwood Cemetery.

A. Byron Elford

March 1, 1857 ~ October 26, 1905

Mr. A. B. Elford of the auditing department of the Republic Iron & Steel Co., died at his residence, Pollock-Stephens Institute, Birmingham, Alabama, October 26, 1905. He had been ill of gastritis for several days, but few of his friends imagined that his condition was serious. Mr. Elford was born near Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, 46 years ago. He had lived in the United States sixteen years and in Birmingham five years. He was genial and cultured and has drawn around him a large circle of devoted friends who lament his death. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elford, principal of Pollock-Stephens; a brother, William Elford, Carman, Man., and a sister, Mrs. Charles Rogers, Taunton—Birmingham News. Bowmanville Statesman, Nov. 8, 1905.
