Frederick DeNure (1902 ~ 1979)
4.3.2.2. Second child of Margaret Archer and C. Reginald DeNure, Frederick DeNure, was born October 22, 1902, in Penetanguishene, Simcoe Co., Ontario.
He married (1) Delta Eva Holmes, daughter of Frederick William Holmes and Emma Ayers, October 27, 1926, in Uhthoff, Orillia Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario and had one child:

He married (2) Birdie Mabel Oke DeNure, daughter of Frederick Thomas Oke and Nellie Alberta Philp, August 1, 1945, in Peterborough, Ontario.
Frederick DeNure died July 31, 1979, aged 76 years and Delta E. Holmes DeNure died November 27, 1943, aged 38 years in Port Perry, Ontario and are interred at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Orillia, Ontario.

Frederick DeNure
At the Port Perry Community Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 1979, Fred DeNure, husband of the late Delta Holmes and Birdie Mabel Oke, dear father of Mervin, Port Perry, stepfather of Mrs. Lawrence Nicholls (Eleanor) Seagrave and Fred DeNure, Lindsay, also loved by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Interment at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Orillia, on Friday, August 3 at 2:30 p.m. Port Perry Star, Aug. 8, 1979.
Delta E. Holmes DeNure
September 10, 1905 ~ November 27, 1943
On Saturday, November 27, 1943, Delta Eva Holmes, beloved wife of Fred DeNure, passed peacefully away in her 39th year at her home, Mary Street, Port Perry, Ontario.
The late Mrs. DeNure was the eldest daughter of Mr. Fred W. Holmes and the late Mrs. Holmes, of Orillia, Ontario.
She was born in Orillia, on September 10, 1905. In the year 1926 she married Fred DeNure of North Orillia. In 1927 they moved to Oshawa where they resided until 1942, when they moved to Port Perry.
Mrs. DeNure was a member of the Sunshine Rebecka Lodge of Orillia, also an active member of the United Church, of Port Perry. A faithful member of the choir, she was also interested in Sunday School work. Mrs. DeNure was an outstanding homemaker, devoted to her husband and son, most popular in the community, possessing an aptitude for making many friends. Her’s was a beautiful Christian life.
The funeral service, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Clifford Smith, was held at the residence, Mary St.
The pallbearers were four brothers, Harry, Dorsey, Murray, and Norman, and two brothers-in-law, Edwin and Ivan DeNure. Interment was made in the family plot, St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Orillia.
Many lovely floral tributes bore mute testimony to the esteem to which she was held.
Friends were present from Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Peterboro, Pickering, Orillia, Stayner, Midland and Oshawa.
Her immediate family, who treasure her sacred memory, are her husband, Fred DeNure, her only son Mervin, her father, Mr. Fred Holmes, Orillia; three sisters, Mrs. Geo. Laurence, of Hampshire Mills, Miss Blanche Holmes, of Orillia; Mrs. E. Cox, of Oshawa; five brothers, Harry of Oshawa; Dorsey of Brechin; Corporal Jack of MacDonald, Manitoba; Murray and Norman of Orillia. Port Perry Star, Dec. 2, 1943.
