----- MARRIAGE -----

DeNureAbernethy

The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Abernethy, Darlington, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on September 25, 1929, when their daughter, Margaret Isabella, was united in marriage with Mr. Albert Edwin DeNure of Belleville. Rev. J. H. Stainton officiated.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was charming in a frock of peach georgette with hose to match and black satin slippers, and carried a bouquet of yellow roses. The wedding march was played by Mrs. A. F. Abernethy, and during the signing of the register, Miss Lela DeNure sang sweetly “For You Alone.”

After a dainty luncheon the happy couple left on a motor trip to Montreal, Ottawa, North Bay and Gravenhurst, the bride travelling in a navy fur-trimmed costume.

A unique feature of the occasion was the christening of little Miss Ruth Isabelle and Baby Harold Bruce, children of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Abernethy, a nephew and niece of the bride. Bowmanville Statesman, Oct. 10, 1929.
