DeNureCossey

A wedding of much interest was quietly solemnized Thursday afternoon, April 3, 1941, at the United Church Manse, by the Rev. Beverly Oaten of Huntsville, when Lela May, younger daughter of Mrs. Margaret DeNure and the late C. R. DeNure, became the bride of Douglas Jack Cossey of Hamilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Cossey.

The bride wore a gown of heavenly rose crepe street length with matching hat and shoulder bouquet of cream Joanna Hill roses and sweet peas. She was attended by her only sister, Mrs. W. J. Watson, wearing a gown of heavenly blue crepe, shoulder bouquet of pink Joanna Hill roses and sweet peas with navy accessories.

Following the ceremony an informal reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. The room was tastefully decorated with pink and white spring flowers, where a dainty buffet luncheon was served.

For traveling the bride donned a dress of turquoise wool with matching turban, a sable jacket and black accessories to match. After a short motor trip the couple will reside at 204 Emerald St. N., Hamilton.

Before her marriage the bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts and two delightful showers were held in her honor at the homes of Mrs. George McCutcheon and Mrs. Gordon Sloan. Gravenhurst Banner, Apr. 10, 1941.
