Samuel Archer (1878 ~ 1960)
4.3.3. Third child of Jane Adams and Hugh Archer, Samuel Archer, was born November 28, 1878, in Tiny Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario.
He married Evalena May Wagner, daughter of William Wagner and Charity Wartman, February 24, 1904, in Tiny Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario and had five children:

Samuel Archer died September 3, 1960, aged 81 years and Evalena M. Wagner Archer died December 25, 1947, aged 65 years in Midland, Ontario and are interred at Lakeview Cemetery.

Samuel Archer
A lifelong resident and farmer of Wyebridge, Samuel Archer died in St. Andrews Hospital, Midland, September 3, 1960 after a lengthy illness. He was in his 82nd year.
Funeral service was conducted September 5th by Rev. J. L. Self at A. Barrie and Sons funeral home. Pallbearers were George Seymour, Munroe Adams, Bill Fallis, Arthur Downer, Oliver Anderson and Cecil Fagan.
On February 24, 1904, he married the former Evelena May Wagner who predeceased him in 1947.
He is survived by three sons, Lloyd and Alvin of Midland and Harold of Wyebridge; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil German (Violet) of Wyebridge; two brothers James of Midland and Fred of St. Catharines, and a sister Mrs. Reginald DeNure (Margaret) of Orillia.
Out of town relatives and friends attended the service from Chatham, Port Perry, Peterborough, Orillia, Washago and Owen Sound.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Midland. Midland Free Press, Sept. 23, 1960.
Evalena M. Wagner Archer
October 11, 1882 ~ December 25, 1947
Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Evalena May Archer, wife of Samuel Archer, R.R.2, Midland, died at St. Andrews Hospital, Midland, on December 25, 1947.
Born in Tiny Township in 1882, the former Evelena May Wagner went to Fairview School No. 16 and became the bride of Samuel Archer on February 24, 1904. They were life-long residents of that district, where they operated a farm. Surviving are her husband and three sons: Lloyd and Alvin of Midland, and Harold at home; and one daughter, Mrs. Cecil German (Violet). There is also one brother, Alfred Wagner of Elmvale, and one sister, Mrs. James Rowatt (Carrie), of Rock Haven, Sask.
Funeral services for Mrs. Archer were held on December 27 from the residence of her son, Lloyd Archer, 302 Queen St., Midland. Rev. George Taylor-Munro of Penetang, conducted the service, assisted by Rev. Dr. A. C. Stewart of Midland. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Midland. Art Downer, Munroe Adams, Howard Toole, Herb Montgomery, Levi Jones and George Seymour were pallbearers.
