Baskets of colored gladioli and ‘mums and autumn leaves were the setting for a lovely autumn wedding in Waverley United Church, October 15, 1947, when Phyllis Kaireen Reynolds, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reynolds, became the bride of Harold Kenneth Archer, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Archer, Midland. Rev. G. W. Morrison officiated and Miss Zelma Drinkle was organist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride looked lovely in a white satin-floor length gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her floor-length veil was caught with a headdress of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses with streamers. Miss Olga Leonard, as bridesmaid, wore a pink taffeta gown trimmed with embroidered net and a matching headdress. She carried a bouquet of white poms and cornflowers. Lorne Turner of Allenwood acted as best man and Elden Reynolds and Ralph MacDonald as ushers.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Reynolds received wearing a black dress with a corsage of pink carnations and white poms, assisted by Mrs. Archer, wearing a navy dress, with a corsage of pink carnations.

The couple left for a trip to Ottawa, Cornwall, Kingston and St. Catharines. For traveling the bride chose a light blue coast with black accessories. Midland Free Press, Nov. 5, 1947.
