James Adams  (1876 ~ 1950)

 

4.4.1. First child of Robert Adams and Susan Pinch, James Adams, was born February 21, 1876, in Wyebridge, Tiny Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

 

  James Adams died July 23, 1950, aged 74 years in Collingwood, Ontario and is buried at Trinity United Cemetery.

James Adams

Funeral rites were held at the Chatterson Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon for James Adams, who died early Sunday morning, July 23, 1950 in the G. and M. Hospital, in his 74th year. Rev. James Taylor officiated and interment was made in Trinity United Cemetery. Pallbearers being Messrs. George Adams, Emerson Doan, Preston Doan, Samuel Archer, Herbert Montgomery and James Archer.

  Born at Tiny Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adams, he came as a young boy to Osprey township, and later the family moved to MacMurchy’s Settlement where they lived for many years. As a young man he sailed the Great Lakes, but ill health compelled him to remain ashore and for more than 25 years he has been living retired at his home on Sixth Street. He is survived by one sister, Miss Mary Adams, with whom he resided and two brothers, Robert of MacMurchy’s Settlement and George of Tenth Line.

  Mr. Adams was single and living quietly. He was a member of Trinity United Church. Collingwood Enterprise-Bulletin, July 27, 1950.
