----- MARRIAGE -----

Souch—Sarvis

At Rochon Sands, Buffalo Lake, at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Souch, Stettler, Alta., formerly of Bowmanville, Ontario, their only daughter, Dorothy Pamela, was united in marriage with Ewart Sproat Sarvis, Bindloss, Sask., on Wednesday, August 6, 1919 at 9:30 a.m. The bride, who was charmingly gowned in Georgette crepe over white satin, wearing a beautiful pearl and peridot crescent, the gift of the groom, and carrying the bridal bouquet of white carnations, was given away by her father and preceded by two nephews and nieces who acted as pages and flower girls. The ceremony was performed on the verandah overlooking the beautiful waters of Buffalo Lake, and along with the evergreen decorations, the colour scheme of Alberta College colours,—purple and gold—was carried out very prettily. Rev. Joseph Wordsworth, Red Deer, Alta., an old family friend, officiated, assisted by Rev. A. B. Argue, Stettler, the bride’s pastor. A reception was held following the ceremony and a very dainty luncheon was served, after which the happy couple motored to Stettler in a gaily decorated and placarded car, accompanied by a number of friends who gave them a parting shower of rice, confetti and strongly attached old boots. The bridal couple will spend their honeymoon at Calgary, Banff and Medicine Hat, after which they will take up residence in the city of Edmonton, Alta. Bowmanville Statesman, Aug. 21, 1919.
