----- MARRIAGE -----
Adams—Mackie
A wedding of much local interest was solemnized on St. Valentine’s Day, Thursday [February 14, 1935] last, when Miss Agnes Mackie, of Humboldt, was married to Mr. John Adams, manager of the Arlington Hotel. The ceremony took place at one o’clock at Westminster United Church Manse, in the presence of a company of relatives and friends of the contracting parties. Rev. H. D. Ranns was the officiating minister. Miss Ann Mackie, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr. J. C. Chalmers, of Macdonalds Consolidated, attended the groom. The bride was becomingly attired in the new and fashionable shade of Marina Blue crepe, with hat and shoes of silver cloth. For traveling, she had a dress of brown crepe. Miss Ann Mackie wore an attractive dress of sapphire blue crepe, with silver ornaments, and grey felt hat. A reception was held following the ceremony and took place at the home of the bride, where a dainty buffet lunch was served, after which the newly married couple left for Winnipeg on the afternoon train for a honeymoon trip.
Numerous parties and showers were held in honor of the bride prior to her wedding, demonstrating her popularity among a wide circle. The couple has the best wishes of hosts of friends. On their return to Humboldt, Mr. and Mrs. Adams will take up residence at the Arlington Hotel. Humboldt Journal, Feb. ?, 1935.
