A quiet wedding took place at the United Church Manse on July 30, 1943 when Agnes Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams, became the bride of L-Cpl. Stuart John Priest, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Priest, of Edmonton, with Rev. E. S. Leaker officiating.

The bride wore a pink and rust dress with tan accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Miss Annette Sands was the bride’s attendant, wearing for the occasion a cinnamon brown flowered dress with matching accessories and also a corsage of pink roses. Pte. Harold J. Adams, brother of the bride, was best man.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents with relatives and close friends being present. The bride’s table was centred with a three tiered wedding cake, imbedded in tulle and flanked with white tapers. The toast to the bride was proposed by Rev. Leaker and responded to by the groom.

Tea honors were performed by Mrs. Colin Sands and Mrs. J. Mackie, while assisting in serving were Mesdames Felton, Olsen and the Misses Donalda McCuaig and Helen Weiers.

The happy couple left by train for Edmonton en route to Red Deer where the groom is now stationed. Humboldt Journal, Aug. 5, 1943.
