Marian Janice Adams (1930 ~ 2010)
4.4.3.8. Eighth child of John Adams and Sophie Kurtenbach, Marian Janice Adams, was born April 11, 1930, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
He married Charles David Ritchie, son of George Frederick Ritchie and Nellie Delora Hillen, October 27, 1952, in Guelph, Ontario and had three children:

Marian J. Adams Ritchie died October 5, 2010, aged 70 years, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Charles D. Ritchie died January 24, 2021, aged 91 years, in Leduc, Alberta.

Marion J. Adams Ritchie
It is with great sadness that the family of Marian Janice Ritchie (nee Adams) announces her passing on October 5, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Marian was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan in 1930. She was the third youngest of 10 children born to Sophie Kurtenbach and John Adams. She grew up in Humboldt and worked for the local CIBC, later transferring to the London, Ontario branch. There she met Charles David Ritchie and in October 1952, they were married in Guelph, Ontario. They moved west in 1954 and had three children: Lynn, David and George. Over the next 57 years, they lived in Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB; Oakville, ON; Lanigan, SK; and finally Leduc, AB. Marian enjoyed classical music, crosswords, dancing, puzzles, quilting, bowling, cooking, and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband, Charles, and her children; Lynn, David and George (Susanne); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and four of her siblings, Agnes, Harold, Vivian and Shirley. A memorial service will be held in Leduc at the Best Western Denham Inn on Saturday, October 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Marian can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Alberta/NWT Division). Charles D. Ritchie
September 16, 1929 ~ January 24, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles David Ritchie of Leduc, Alberta, announces his passing on January 24, 2021, at the age of 91. Charles was born in Guelph, Ontario September of 1929. Charles graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1952 with Bachelors degrees in both Arts and Science. Charles is predeceased by his wife, Marian Janice Ritchie (nee Adams) in 2010, whom he married in October 1952 in Guelph. Charles and Marian moved west in 1954 and had three children, Lynn (deceased 2020), David (Leonora) and George (Susanne). Charles had a diverse career that took him all over western Canada. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by his two siblings, Donald and Barbara. At Charles' request, no memorial service is being held. Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be missed and oft-remembered.
