Robert James Adams  (1920 ~ 1983)

 

4.4.4.1. First child of Robert Adams and Roxy Cook, Robert James Adams, was born August 25, 1920, in Nottawasaga Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

 

  R. James Adams died December 31, 1983, aged 63 years, in Collingwood, Ontario and is interred at Trinity United Cemetery.

R. James Adams

Robert James Adams well-known resident of Nottawa, Collingwood and the surrounding district entered into rest on December 31, 1983.

  Son of the late Robert Adams and Roxie Cook, he was born August 25, 1920 in MacMurchy Settlement. He attended the settlement school and also attended C.C.I. in Collingwood.

  He farmed with his father as a young man and worked in the Collingwood Elevators for more than 25 years and had received his 25 year pin and gold watch.

  He was a founding member of Georgian Bay Steam, Auto, Gas Association and restored and operated a 1922 Waterloo Steam Engine. He also was the operator of the saw mill at the steam show.

  Survived by his sister Isabel McQueen of Nottawa and his nieces and nephews Sheila (Mrs. J. McCarthy), Angela and Melissa of Creemore; Susan Mather and son Aaron; Jeannie (Mrs. Roger McGillvray) Amy and Ryan of Stayner; Mr. Norman McQueen, Adam, Jason and Jeremy of Collingwood.

  Funeral was held from Fawcett Funeral Home on January 2, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. Spring interment in the United Cemetery. Collingwood Enterprise-Bulletin, Feb. 2, 1984.
