Eva Elizabeth Souch  (1889 ~ 1984)

 

4.4.4.2. Second child of Jabez J. Souch and Mina A. Bradley, Eva Elizabeth Souch, was born January 4, 1889, in Langdon, Cavalier Co., North Dakota, U.S.

  She married (1) William Henry Reeve, son of William Henry Reeve and Mary Alice Goodwin, February 26, 1927, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and had one child: 

 

  • (4.4.4.2.1)  Ray James  (1932 ~ 2018)       

   

  Eva E. Souch Reeve died June 12, 1984, aged 95 years and William H. Reeve died April 7, 1988, aged 89 years in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Eva E. Souch Reeve

January 4, 1889 ~ June 12, 1984

Peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 1984 at her residence, Mrs. Eva Reeve, of the Conquist Nursing Home, 1776 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg.

  Mrs. Reeve was born at Langdon, N.D. She came to Winnipeg in 1927 and married William Reeve. They resided at 160 Baltimore Rd. until 1964. She then lived for part of the year in Hollywood, Fla., with the remainder of the year spent at the cottage at Ponemah Beach. In June of 1983, she made her permanent residence with her family. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.

  Mrs. Reeve is survived by her loving husband Bill; one son Ray and wife Nancy and granddaughter Sharron; one stepdaughter Yvonne of Ottawa; one sister Doris Stickney of Front Royal, Va. and many nephews and nieces.

  Funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 15 in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, with Rev. J. Bays officiating. Service will terminate in the chapel with cremation to follow.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

  Friends may call at the chapel from 6:30 p.m. Friday until service time.

  Many thanks to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital 6C during her stay there and also to the Conquist Nursing Home for the wonderful attention she received.

William H. Reeve

September 8, 1898 ~April 7, 1988

After a brief stay on Thursday, April 7, 1988 at the Health Sciences Centre in his 90th year, William Henry Reeve, beloved husband of the late Eva Reeve.

  He will be sadly missed by his son Ray and wife Nancy; his daughter Yvonne Reeve of Ottawa; his only granddaughter Sharron and husband Stewart Jordisson. Bill was predeceased by his wife Eva in June, 1984. He was the only one left in his family of brothers and sisters.

  Bill was born in the North End of Winnipeg, finished school and started as a messenger in 1915 at the Great-West Life. The same year he transferred to the Exit and Change Dept. from 1917 to 1957. He supervised various departments, the Ontario Premium and the Eastern Caanda Premiums Dept. In 1957 he was appointed Supervisor of Premium Records, the position held till he retired. He had completed 49 years, 4 months in the supervisory capacity. If you spoke insurance, there was only one place the Great-West Life in his eyes. He was employee No. 56. Bill was on the Board of Managers of the Riverview United Church in the finance part and on the Building Fund. During the years he resided in Riverview. Bill was married to Eva for 57 years. In their younger years they resided at 160 Baltimore Rd. Upon retiring they lived six months in Hollywood, Fla., the remainder of their years at the cottage in Ponemah. In June of 1983 he made his residence with his family in Winnipeg. After making a recovery from his heart attack he resided at 185 Smith St. till just recently.

  Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy St. Rev. Judith MacGillivray officiating. Service will terminate in the chapel with cremation to follow. Viewing half hour prior to service.

  Many thanks to Dr. L C. Bartlett for the many years he took care of him and now the staff at the Health Sciences Centre.

  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Manitoba Heart Foundation, 301-352 Donald St.
