George Adams  (1886 ~ 1965)

 

4.4.5. Fifth child of Robert Adams and Susan Pinch, George Adams, was born December 28, 1886, in Nottawasaga Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

  He married Christena Isabelle McGillivary, daughter of Duncan McGillivary and Catherine Livingstone, December 25, 1912, in Collingwood, Simcoe Co., Ontario and had three children:

 

  • (4.4.5.1)  George  (1914 ~ 2010)

  • (4.4.5.2)  Catherine  (1917 ~ 2008) 

  • (4.4.5.3)  Robert  (1919 ~ 2003)

 

  George Adams died March 27, 1965, aged 78 years and Christena I. McGillivary Adams died April 13, 1977, aged 91 years in Collingwood, Ontario and are interred at Trinity United Cemetery.

George Adams

A resident of the MacMurchy’s Settlement district for almost his entire life, George Adams, Tenth Line, died at the Bayview Nursing Home on March 27, 1965. Born in Osprey Township 78 years ago, he was a son of the late Robert and Susan Pinch Adams. He came to the MacMurchy’s Settlement district as a boy and had spent his lifetime on the Tenth Line where he farmed.

  He is survived by his wife, Christena I. McGillivary; two sons and one daughter, George and Robert and Catherine (Mrs. Lloyd Fisher). There are four grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister, James, Mary, John and Robert, predeceased him.

  Funeral rites were held at the Chatterson-Austin Funeral Home on March 29, conducted by Rev. McNeil. Pallbearers were Messrs. John A. Currie, Andrew Montgomery, Archie Currie, Alex. Livingstone, Robert Burgess and Russell Brown. Interment was in Trinity United Cemetery. Relatives and friends were present from Midland, Vasey, Elmvale, Thornbury, Peterborough and Waverley. September 16, 1885 ~ April 13, 1977

At Sunset Manor Collingwood, on Wednesday, April 13, 1977. Christena Isabelle Adams wife of the late George Adams and dear mother of Catherine (Mrs. Lloyd Fisher) of Thornbury, George and Robert of Collingwood. Funeral services were held at the C. J. Fawcett Funeral Home, Collingwood on Saturday, April 16. Interment Presbyterian Cemetery. Collingwood Enterprise-Bulletin, Apr. 20, 1977.
