----- MARRIAGE -----

Pye—Johnston
At two o’clock on Wednesday afternoon, September 3, 1913, the Methodist church at Enniskillen was the scene of a very pretty wedding, the contracting parties being Miss Addie May Pye, daughter of Mr. John Pye, Enniskillen, and Mr. Herbert Johnston, son of Mrs. Mary Johnston of Uxbridge. Mrs. C. W. Souch played wedding march, the knot was made secure by Rev. W. E. Honey; the ceremony was witnessed by about thirty-five friends and relatives. The bride, beautifully gowned in cream satin with a wedding veil, and carring lovely cream roses and lilies of the valley, was led to the alter by her uncle, Mr. C. W. Souch; while little Mildred Souch, looking very sweet in white with pink ribbons, acted as flower girl. After the ceremony the company retired to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pye where they enjoyed a sumptuous repast. Tokens of the bride’s popularity were in evidence, the gifts being numerous, beautiful and useful; a kitchen shower giving special proof of the high esteem in which she is held in the community. She has been a faithful worker in the church and will be missed there as well as in her home. The groom’s gift to the bride was a gold watch and fob, to the organist a pearl brooch, and to the flower girl a locket and chain. In the evening the bridal party motored to Toronto where they will shortly take up residence. Bowmanville Statesman, Sept. 11, 1913.
