Howard James Pye  (1891 ~ 1968)

 

4.4.5.4. Fourth child of Laura C. Souch and John W. Pye, Howard James Pye, was born May 5, 1891, in Enniskillen, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

  Howard J. Pye died August 25, 1968, aged 77 years in Cobourg, Ontario and is interred at Hampton Union Cemetery.

Howard J. Pye

May 5, 1891 ~ August 25, 1968

The death of Howard J. Pye, aged 77 years, of Enniskillen, occurred suddenly at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg, on Sunday, August 25, 1968.

  Son of the late John Wesley and Laura (Souch) Pye, he was born in Enniskillen and received his education there.

  The deceased was a life-long resident of Enniskillen until taking up residence in the Golden Plough Lodge and retired some years ago. He was a member of Enniskillen United Church and was for many years caretaker of that church. He was also a member of the Orange Lodge.

  Mr. Pye is survived by a nephew, Clifford A. Stainton of Toronto. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. J. Albert Stainton (Florence) and Mrs. Herbert Johnston (Adelaine).

  The funeral service was held from the Northcutt-Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville, and was conducted by Rev. Milton Sanderson. Interment was in Hampton Cemetery. 

  Among the lovely floral tributes was one from Enniskillen United Church.

  Pallbearers were Messrs. Arthur Blanchard, Ralph Virtue, Adam Sharp, Clifford Pethick, Wilbur Smith and Wm. Mahaffy. Bowmanville Statesman, Sept. 11, 1968.
