Russell Sinclair Vanstone  (1888 ~ 1974)

 

4.5.8.3. Third child of Arthur L. Vanstone and Annie S. Sinclair, Russell Sinclair Vanstone, was born August 23, 1888, in Brantford, Brantford Co., Ontario.

  He married Zora Evelyn Sharp, daughter of Sylvester James Sharp and Melissa Platten, June 6, 1923, in Toronto, York Co., Ontario and had one child: 

 

  • (4.5.8.3.1)  Harold Russell  (1926 ~ 2013)

 

  Russell S. Vanstone died October 6, 1974, aged 86 years and Zora E. Sharp Vanstone died November 27, 1962, aged 79 years in Toronto, Ontario and are interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Vanstone—Sharp

A pretty June wedding took place Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bender, 11 Lynwood Avenue, Toronto, when Zora Evelyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester James Sharp, was married to Russell Sinclair Vanstone of Brantford. Rev. Dr. Young performed the service. The bride looked lovely in her wedding dress of white kitten’s ear crepe with long court train embroidered at the end with spray of crystal beads. Her filmy tulle veil was caught with a coronet of real lace and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and lily of the valley. The bridesmaid was Miss Glenna Sherris in a pretty dress of peach Normandy voile with black hat, and carried a bouquet of lavender sweet peas. Mr. Charles Thompson acted as best man. During the afternoon Miss Jackson sang and Miss Ethel Kennedy was at the piano. After the ceremony a reception was held. Mrs. Sharp wore a grey crepe charmeuse dress with amethyst hat and corsage bouquet of orchids. Mrs. Bender wore grey crepe meteor with hat to match and bouquet of sweet peas. Mrs. H. W. Sharp had on a dress of reseda green Canton crepe, black hat and bouquet of sweet peas. Later the bride and groom left for their honeymoon trip to the north, the bride going away in a suit of navy blue with hat en suite and mink furs. Mr. and Mrs. Vanstone will reside in Brantford. VANSTONE, Russell Sinclair (formerly of Brantford, Ontario)—On Sunday, October 6, 1974, at Toronto, beloved husband of the late Zora Evelyn Sharp, dear father of Harold R. Vanstone; grandfather of Jane and Louise. At the funeral chapel of A. W. Miles, 30 St. Clair Ave. W. from 7-9 p.m. Monday. Service on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Toronto Star, Oct. 7, 1974.

VANSTONE, Zora Evelyn Sharp—On Tuesday, November 27, 1962, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Zora Evelyn Sharp, beloved wife of Russell S. Vanstone, 24 The Links Rd., Willowdale, and dear mother of Harold R. Vanstone. At the funeral chapel of A. W. Miles, 30 St. Clair Ave. W. Service on Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Toronto Star, Nov. 30, 1962
