Margaret Jean Montgomery

4.7.2.2. Second child of W. Herbert Montgomery and May Liggett, Margaret Jean Montgomery, was born June 18, 1930, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

  She married (1) Graham Murray Jones, son of Levi Johnston Jones and Jane Dalton, on October 7, 1950, in Victoria Harbour, Tay Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario and had seven children:

  She married (2) John Horace Isaac, son of Elmer John Isaac and Editha Ethel May Hamilton, August 9, 1980, in Midland, Ontario.

  M. Jean Montgomery Jones Isaac died November 17, 2014, aged 84 years in Penetanguishene, Ontario and Graham M. Jones died February 14, 1978, aged 53 years, in Midland, Ontario.

The marriage was performed by Rev. J. H. Anderson in the Victoria Harbour parsonage, October 7, 1950, when Margaret Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Montgomery, of Wyebridge, became the bride of Graham Murray, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Jones, Wyebridge.

  The bride wore a street-length frock of blue taffeta trimmed with lace, and a corsage of roses and sweet pears. Her sister attended her wearing yellow taffeta with matching net and a corsage of bronze and yellow ‘mums. Murray Waples, nephew of the groom was best man.

  The groom’s gift to his bride was a rhinestone necklace and matching earrings; to the bridesmaid, a compact, and to the best man, a wallet.

  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Montgomery, the bride’s mother, received the guests, frocked in airforce blue crepe with navy accessories. The groom’s mother, Mrs. Jones, assisted in a dress of burgundy crepe with matching accessories. Out of town guests were present from Guelph, Thornton, Barrie, Wyevale, Mount St. Louis, Victoria Harbour and Midland.

  Leaving for their wedding trip to Northern United States and Niagara Falls, the bride donned a wine-coloured wool dress with navy accessories. On their return, Mr. and Mrs. Jones will live on the groom’s farm at Wyebridge. Midland Free Press, Oct. 18, 1950.

M. Jean Montgomery Jones Isaac

Passed away peacefully at the Penetanguishene site of the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Monday, November 17, 2014, in her 85th year.

  Beloved wife of John Isaac and predeceased by Graham Jones.

  Lovingly remembered by her children Sheila (Rick) Thompson, Ruth (Gary) Sproule, Ellen (Mike) Gouett, Susan (Mitch) Zylski, Michael (Shauna) and Nancy (Steve) Kay as well as John’s children David (Cathie), Elizabeth (Bill) Russell, Ken (Jane) and Paul (Kim). Proud grandmother of 25 and great grandmother of 20.

  Predeceased by her son Murray and will be missed by Kathy Marchand.

  Dear sister of Aileen Wallace and loved aunt of Peggy and Fred Wallace. Predeceased by her parents Herb and Mae Montgomery and her brother Joe.

  The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the palliative care team at Penetang hospital for their wonderful care and compassion during Mom’s last weeks.

  Friends may call at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home, Elmvale on Friday, November 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and at St. Paul's United Church, Midland from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22. Graham M. Jones

November 26, 1924 ~ February 14, 1978

Graham Murray Jones, of R.R.2, Midland died on February 14, 1978 at Huronia District Hospital at the age of 53. 

  He was born in Vasey, the son of Levi Johnstone Jones and Jane Dalton, and attended Evergreen Public School. On October 7, 1950, he married Margaret Jean Montgomery in Victoria Harbour.

  Mr. Jones farmed in Tiny Township all his life. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Midland.

  Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, his sons Murray of Guelph and Michael, and his daughters Sheila (Mrs. George Weatherell), of Midland, Ruth (Mrs. Gary Sproule), of Toronto, Ellen, Susan and Nancy. Also by his sisters Dorothy (Mrs. William Miller), of Mount St. Louis, and Irene (Mrs. Frank Wilford) of Midland.

  Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held on February 17 in St. Paul’s Church, Midland, the Rev. Norm Watson officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Murray Waples of Orangeville, David, Brian and Ron Jones of R.R.1 Midland, Jack Wilford of Peterborough and Karl Miller of Mount St. Louis, all nephews of the deceased. Midland Free Press, Feb. 22, 1978.

 

Murray M. Jones

August 1, 1953 ~ December 8, 2010

Murray Montgomery Jones passed away with his family by his side in his 58th year after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland. Murray, loving spouse and best friend of Kathy Marchand. Beloved son of Jean Isaac and her husband John, and predeceased by his father Graham Jones. He will be fondly remembered by Amy (Jon) Preston and Amber Marchand. Loving brother to Sheila (Rick) Thompson, Ruth (Gary) Sproule, Ellen (Mike) Gouett, Susan (Mitch) Zylski, Mike (Shauna) Jones and Nancy (Steve) Kay. Murray will also be fondly remembered by the LePage family, many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held at the  Watts Funeral Home, 14 Poyntz St., Penetanguishene (705) 549-5400 on Friday, December 10th, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service was held at St. Paul’s United Church, Midland on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, of Bunn's Kids Midland would be appreciated. Midland Free Press, Dec. 15, 2010.
