Robert Archer Colwill  (1923 ~ 2012)

 

4.7.5.3. Third child of Leila M. Montgomery and John Colwill, Robert Archer Colwill, was born January 28, 1923, in Tay Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

  He married Muriel Rose Lee, daughter of Daniel Arthur Lee and Rosanna Wilkinson, on August 31, 1946, in Toronto, Ontario and had three children:  

 

  • (4.7.5.3.1)  Lance Archer  (1951 ~ 1951)

  • (4.7.5.3.2)  Wendy Ellen  (1952 ~ )  

  • (4.7.5.3.3)  Marilyn Rose  (1956 ~ )  

 

  R. Archer Colwill died March 23, 2012, aged 89 years and Muriel R. Lee Colwill died November 24, 2005, aged 86 years in Barrie, Ontario.

R. Archer Colwill

Simcoe County Auctioneer and former owner of the Elmvale Sales Stables. Victorious in life, Triumphant in death, Archer went to be with his Lord surrounded by loved ones at Hospice Simcoe on March 23, 2012 at age 89. Beloved husband of the late Muriel, loving father of Wendy and her husband Alex Buchnea of Toronto, and Marilyn and her husband Bruce Johnson of Mississauga. Cherished grandfather of Chris, Daniel, Adam and David Buchnea and Jenn Johnson. Hero to sisters Alma Ironside of Penetang-uishine and Margaret Colwill of Midland. Friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral home 30 Worsley St. Barrie on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held at Collier St. United on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at 11 am. Archer's family gives heartfelt thanks to the 3NB doctors and nursing staff and volunteers at RVH and Hospice Simcoe. Thanks for the emotional and prayerful support of family and friends around the world. Peacefully, at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Thursday, November 24, 2005. Muriel Rose Colwill of Barrie, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Archer Colwill, in their 60th year of marriage. Loving mother of Wendy and her husband Alex Buchnea of Toronto and Marilyn and her husband Bruce Johnson of Mississauga. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Daniel, Adam and David Buchnea and Jennifer Johnson. Dear sister of Margaret Pearce and her husband Charles of Toronto. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home (Clapperton and Worsley Streets), Barrie, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from Collier Street United Church on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.  Cremation.
