Isobel Louise Fagan  (1925 ~ 1951)

 

4.7.8.3. Third child of Margaret L. Montgomery and Elwood A. Fagan, Isobel Louise Fagan, was born April 4, 1925, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario.

  She married William Francis Ironside, son of Robert Charles Ironside and Lillie May Livingstone, around 1948, in Midland, Ontario and had two children:  

 

  • (4.7.8.3.1)  Linda Isobel  (1946 ~ 1968)

  • (4.7.8.3.2)  Robert John  (1949 ~ )

 

  Isobel L. Fagan Ironside died April 8, 1951, aged 26 years in Midland, Ontario and is interred at Waverley United Cemetery.

Isobel L. Fagan Ironside

Over 200 relatives and friends attended the funeral service for Isobel Ironside conducted by Rev. W. R. Auld, April 11, 1951 from the funeral home of A. Barrie and Sons, Midland. Interment was in Waverley United Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Harold Nichols, John Fagan, Lennox Vasey, Joseph Montgomery, Archer Colwill and Lloyd Parker. Out-of-town relatives and friends attended the service came from Toronto, Port McNicoll, Collingwood, Elmvale, Vasey, Wyebridge, Stroud, Plainswick, Stayner and Ebenezer.

  Born Isobel Fagan, 26 years ago in Midland, she had attended school in Ebenezer and Victoria Harbour, and had spent her life in the district.

  Mrs. Ironside leaves her husband, Wm. Frank Ironside, and two children, Linda, 4, and Robert (Bobby), 16 months, of Midland.

  Also surviving are: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Fagan, of Stroud; five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Parker (Velma), Midland; Alberta, Toronto; Mrs. W. McPherson (Orma), Midland; Lela and Betty, of Stroud; and two brothers, Grant, of Ebenezer, and Orville, of Stroud. Midland Free Press, Apr. 18, 1951.

At the Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, June 29, 1968, Linda Fagan, beloved wife of Arthur Sangster of 22 Gammage Street, London, dear daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Fagan of Stroud, and sister of Velma (Mrs. L. Parker), Alberta (Mrs. P. Meech) and Grant all of Midland, Orma (Mrs. W. MacPherson) of London, Leila (Mrs. G. Wallace) of Chatham, Betty (Mrs. K. Bartholomew) of Scarboro and Orville of Barrie. Resting at Jennett Funeral Home, 152 Bradford Street, Barrie for service on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment Waverley United Church Cemetery. Barrie Examiner, July 2, 1968.
