Robert Adams (1819 ~ 1887)
5. Fifth child of Thomas Adams and Isabella McBride, Robert Adams, was born December 18, 1819, in Co. Monaghan, Ireland.
He married Jane Patterson, daughter of John Patterson and Mary Taylor, February 7, 1843, in Cobourg, Northumberland Co., Ontario and had 12 children:

Robert Adams died August 5, 1887, aged 67 years, and Jane Patterson Adams died February 8, 1900, aged 80 years, in Clarke Twp., Durham Co., Ontario and are interred at Cartwright Union Cemetery.

Robert and Jane Adams farmed in the township of Clarke. Their land consisted of 75 acres on Concession 10, Lot 35. 58 acres on Concession 10, Lot 33 and 50 acres on Concession 9, Lot 34. Also they farmed in Manvers on Concession 4, Lot 3 consisting of 50 acres.
