Charles James Lilley  (1868 ~ 1943)

 

5.2.1. First child of Mary Adams and Charles Lilley, Charles James Lilley, was born September 8, 1868, in Sarnia, Lambton Co., Ontario. 

  He married Mary Munn McDonald, daughter of John McDonald and Catherine McDonald, December 18, 1890, in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, U.S. and had four children:

 

 

  Charles J. Lilley died November 3, 1943, aged 75 years, in Sarnia, Ontario and Mary McDonald Lilley died July 5, 1910, aged 41 years in Chicago, Ill., U.S. and are interred at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia, Ontario.

Charles J. Lilley

Charles James Lilley, who resided at 139 south Vidal street, died in Sarnia General Hospital today, November 3, 1943 at age 75 following a recent illness. Born in Sarnia, Mr. Lilley was a clerk for the New York Central Railway at Chicago for 41 years, he returned to Sarnia in 1927, where he continued to reside. The surviving relatives include two sons, Charles J., Jr. of Cleveland, and John S. of Chicago, a daughter, Mrs. S. D. Simpson of this city, three sisters Mrs. N. L. Morrison, Miss Eliza Lilley and Mrs. A. Barton all of Chicago.

  His wife died in 1910. The funeral will be held from Robb Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. Sarnia Observer, Nov. 3, 1943.
