5.2.2.2. Second child of Jennie E. Lilley and T. Frederick Barton, Marshall Reeves Barton, was born September 13, 1893, in Chicago, Illinois. 

  He married (1) Marie Lamerson, daughter of John Lamerson and Sarah “Jennie” Hall, February 8, 1913*, in Bloomfield, N.J., U.S. and had two children:

  • (5.2.2.2.2)  James Douglas  (1917 ~ 1992)

 

  He married (2) Clara Emelia Miller, daughter of August Rudolph Miller and Ida Plante, September 9, 1936, in Wellsburg, W.V., U.S.

  He married (3) Marie A. Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark, February 14, 1942, in Wellsburg, W.V., U.S.

  He married (4) Mabel McLaughlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McLaughlin, Date, 1950s, in U.S.

Marshall R. Barton

Marshall Reeves Barton of 186 Market Mall, Memphis, Tennessee a retired Bible salesman, died yesterday, July 23, 1967 at Shelby County Hospital. He was 73.

  Mr. Barton was born in Chicago and came to Memphis several years ago. He was state sales representative for Goodwill Bible Industrial Co. of Nashville before his retirement. He was a Methodist.

  He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mabel Barton; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sue McLaughlin of 4267 Dunn Road, and two sisters, Miss Edna Barton of Richmond, VA., and Mrs. Gladys Richmond of Florida.

Of Bloomfield, New Jersey, on Sunday, February 22, 1981, John F. Barton, husband of Helen A. (nee Ensor) Barton, also survived by eight children and 22 grandchildren, stepson of Carl W. Demmert, brother of James D. Barton. The funeral service will be held at the Murray Quinn Funeral Home, 206 Belleville Ave., Bloomfield, on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Glendale Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 7-9 pm Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Newark Star-Ledger, Feb. 23, 1981.

 

James Douglas Barton

December 10, 1917 ~ August 19, 1992

James D. Barton, 74, of Toms River, New Jersey, died Wednesday, August 19, 1992 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Fla. He had been visiting in the area. Mr. Barton was a superintendent for the U.S. Postal Service, Belleville, for 27 years before retiring in 1972. He was a communicant of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke’s. He was a member and past commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 16-3 and a member of the 98th Bomb GP(H) Veterans Association. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with oak leaf cluster, five battle stars and two Presidential Unit Citations. Mr Barton was born in Newark, N. J. and lived in Bloomfield before moving to Toms River in 1983. 

  He is predeceased by his wife, Alice, who died this year. Surviving are three sons, James Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., Richard Sr. of Glen Ridge and Thomas of Bloomfield; one daughter, Mary Barton, of Longport, N.J.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River is handling all arrangements. Asbury Park Press, Aug. 21, 1992.
