Eva Violet Adams  (1917 ~ 1986)

 

5.3.10.2. Second child of Tim Adams and Gertrude Goodman, Eva Violet Adams, was born February 9, 1917, in Burketon, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

  She married Edwin Milton Cochrane, son of Milton George Cochrane and Olive Cosy Davidson, November 23, 1935, in Oshawa, Ontario and had six children:

  • (5.3.10.2.6)  Dennis Ralph  (1945 ~ )

 

  Eva V. Adams Cochrane died May 7, 1986, aged 69 years and Edwin M. Cochrane died June 1, 1969, aged 51 years in Oshawa, Ontario and are interred at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario.

Eva V. Adams Cochrane

A member of the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre, Eva Violet Cochrane died Wednesday, May 7, 1986 at the Oshawa General Hospital.

   She lived at 230 Nipigon Street.

  Born February 9, 1917 in Bowmanville, she is the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Adams.

  She lived in Oshawa since 1968. She was involved in several bowling leagues.

  Her husband, Edwin Milton Cochrane, died before her.

  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Lindsay (Joan) of Lindsay and Mrs. William Wakely (Glenda) of Whitby, three sons, George of Blackstock, Bruce of Prince Albert and Dennis of Janetville, four sisters and one brother and 11 grandchildren.

  Mrs. Cochrane was at Armstrong Funeral Home. Services were held in the chapel Saturday, May 10 at 1:30 p.m. followed by interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.

  Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Oshawa Times, May 9, 1986.

 

Edwin M. Cochrane

November 22, 1917 ~ June 1, 1969

The death occurred suddenly June 1, 1969 at the Oshawa General Hospital, of Edwin Milton Cochrane, of 416 Taunton Rd. W., Oshawa. He was in his 52nd year.

  A lifelong resident of the Oshawa area, the deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cochrane. Born in Oshawa, November 22, 1917, he was married here November 23, 1935. An employee of General Motors for 33 years, he worked in the wire and harness department at the time of his death. He was a member of Local 222, UAW.

  Mr. Cochrane is survived by his wife, the former Eva Violet Adams; two daughters, Mrs. Bob Lindsay (Joan) and Miss Glenda Cochrane, both of Whitby and three sons, George of Taunton, Bruce of Port Perry and Dennis of Oshawa.

  Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Thomas Westlake (Gladys) of Bowmanville; three brothers Archie and Morris of Oshawa and Alfred of Uxbridge and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Irene.

  The memorial service will be held at the Armstrong Funeral Home Wednesday June 4, 1969 followed by interment in Mount Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation to the Ontario Heart Foundation would be appreciated. Oshawa Times, June 2, 1969.
