Adams—Carter
The parsonage in Blackstock, prettily decorated with tulips and lilacs, was the setting of a quiet wedding on June 7, 1947.
Mary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Adams, became the bride of Robert, third son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter, all of Burketon. The ceremony was performed by Mr. McKibbon.
The bride looked lovely in a street-length dress of pale blue silk jersey with pink flowered hat and brown accessories. Her corsage was red rose buds and lily-of-the-valley. The bride’s only attendant was Mrs. George Carter, sister-in-law of the groom, in a street-length dress of pale blue linen with white accessories and a corsage of pink rose buds and lily-of-the-valley. Mr. George Carter, brother of the groom, was best man.
During the signing of the register Mrs. McKibbon played “I Love You Truly.”
After the ceremony the young couple left mid showers of confetti and the best wishes of their friends, for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Bowmanville Statesman, June 12, 1947.
