5.3.13. Thirteenth child of Thomas Adams and Maria Bullied, Isaac Oscar Adams, was born December 4, 1895, in New Park, Clarke Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
He married (1) Alice Agnes Annette Gordon, daughter of Enoch Gordon and Eliza Edgar, December 12, 1921, in Guelph, Wellington Co., Ontario and had eight children:

He married (2) Miriam “Minnie” Handley Mitchell, daughter of Albert Handley and Miriam, April 2, 1966, in Newtonville, Clarke Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
I. Oscar Adams died December 18, 1974, aged 79 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and Alice A. Gordon Adams died July 21, 1962, aged 59 years in Cobourg, Ontario and are interred at Hampton Union Cemetery.

I. Oscar Adams
Ill for the past three years, Mr. Isaac Oscar Adams died at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Wednesday, December 18, 1974. He lived in Bowmanville and the Orono area for the past eight years although spending most of his life in Roseneath.
The former Oscar Adams was born at New Park, Clarke Township, a son of Thomas Adams and Maria Bullied in 1895. He was educated in Clarke Township. In 1921 the late Mr. Adams was married to Alice Agnes Gordon and the couple resided in Roseneath where Mr. Adams followed his profession of farming. His wife predeceased him July 21, 1962. He was a member of the United Church as well as a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge.
The late Oscar Adams is survived by two daughters, Laverne (Mrs. S. Barraball), Yvonne (Mrs. N. George) and five sons, Elmer, Gordon, Milton, Kenneth and Fay. A daughter, Gwendolene, predeceased him on November 29, 1926.
Mr. Adams rested at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home in Bowmanville where the services was held on December 20, 1974 with Rev. Basil Long taking the service. Temporary interment was made at the Lang Chapel in Orono with interment in the spring in Hampton.
Floral tributes were by Strathaven Nursing Home, Oddfellow’s Lodge No. 436, Rebekah Lodge No. 334, Canadian Tire, Bowmanville, Smith Beverages, Rolph Hardware and Alnwick Township. Bowmanville Statesman, Jan. 1, 1975.
Alice A. Gordon Adams
March 26, 1903 ~ July 21, 1962
A large gathering attended the funeral of Mrs. Oscar Adams at Roseneath United Church, July 23, 1962. She was the former Alice Gordon. The service was conducted by Rev. H. E. Beare, assisted by Rev. R. C. White of Newtonville. The mixed choir was in charge of music, with Mrs. Edgar Carew and Mrs. J. Coyle singing the Old Rugged Cross. A representation of W.I. of which deceased had been a president attended. Pallbearers were Jas. Gray, Edwin McCleary, Fred Murphy, Kyle Brown, Edgar Braithwaite, Hector Winkworth. The flower bearers were Wellington Dowler, Lorne Elder, Fred Duff and Elmer Carew. Deceased was born in England 62 years ago, coming to Canada at nineteen. Following her marriage 42 years ago, the couple resided in Durham County, coming to Roseneath approximately sixteen years ago. Mrs. Adams was an active member of W.A. known for her fine needlework she entered exhibits at the C.N.E. and agricultural fairs, winning many prizes. Her death occurred in Cobourg General Hospital, July 21, 1962 following a lengthy illness. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Neil George of Roseneath and Mrs. Sidney Barraball, Orono; five sons, Elmer, Palermo; Gordon, Norham; Milton, Kenneth and Fay, Orono; also twenty grandchildren. Interment was in the family plot in Hampton Cemetery near Bowmanville. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, July ?, 1962.
Miriam “Minnie” Handley Mitchell Adams
June 2, 1900 ~ March 28, 1974
Mrs. Minnie Adams died March 28, 1974 in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville. Formerly of Orono, Mrs. Adams presently resided at 252 King St. E., Bowmanville. Born in Hereford, England in the year 1900 she later met and married W. C. H. Mitchell. They immigrated to Canada about 55 years ago [1919] and settled in the Orono district where they lived and worked until Mr. Mitchell’s death in June of 1963.
On April 2, 1966 she married Oscar Adams. Shortly after they moved to Bowmanville.
Mrs. Adams was a member of St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, Orono and she was very active in the women’s association. She was a member of the Orono Horticultural Society and a past president of the Senior Citizens.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, Oscar of Strathaven Nursing Home, her sister, Thurza of Toronto, and children, George of Oshawa, Albert of Orono and Connie of Lakeside also 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bowmanville Statesman, Apr. 3, 1974.
