Charles Henry Adams  (1913 ~ 1974)

 

5.3.1.4. Fourth child of Joseph Adams and Mabel Martin, Charles Henry Adams, was born January 24, 1913, in Burketon, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario. 

  He married Dorothy May Irwin, daughter of Robert James Glassford Irwin and Lottie May Barr, September 30, 1939, in Oshawa, Ontario and had five children:

  Charles H. Adams died September 17, 1974, aged 61 years and Dorothy M. Irwin Adams died July 18, 1992, aged 71 years in Oshawa, Ontario and are interred at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario.

Charles H. Adams

A former custodian for the Durham Board of Education for 18 years, who retired in 1970, Charles Henry Adams, died suddenly at the Oshawa General Hospital Tuesday, September 17, 1974. He lived at R.R.2, Blackstock.

  Born January 24, 1913 in Burketon, Ont., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Adams. He had lived in Blackstock for four years and had formerly lived in Oshawa.

  A member of the C.U.P.E. local 218, he is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Irwin; one daughter, Mrs. William Selleck (Joyce) of Oshawa; three sons, Robert and Ernie of Blackstock; John of Oshawa; one sister, Mrs. David Bothwell (Bernice) of Bowmanville; one brother, Earl Adams of Oshawa; and six grandchildren.

  One son, Ronald, died in 1961, and one brother, George, died in 1972.

  Mr. Adams rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa. Service was held in the chapel Friday, with interment in Mount Lawn Cemetery. Rev. R. C. White officiated. Bowmanville Statesman, Sept. 25, 1974.

 

Dorothy M. Irwin Adams

March 2, 1921 ~ July 18, 1992

After a lengthy illness, at her residence, on Saturday, July 18, 1992, Dorothy May Irwin in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Henry Adams. Loving friend of Ken Farrow of Oshawa. Dear mother of Joyce Adams and her friend Raymond Bottrell of Oshawa, Bob Adams and his wife Rena of Blackstock, Ernie Adams and his wife Liz of Blackstock, John Adams and his wife Diane of Haydon and the late Ronald Adams. Fondly remembered by one brother and five sisters. Loved by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E., Oshawa with funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, July 22 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby. Ronald H. Adams

June 22, 1940 ~ September 2, 1961

Entered into rest in Huntsville Hospital on Saturday, September 2, 1961, Ronald Herbert Charles Adams, beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adams, and beloved brother of Robert, Ernest, Joyce and John, in his 22nd year. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa, with memorial service in the chapel Tuesday, September 5, at 2 p.m. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby. Oshawa Times, Sept. 5, 1961.

 

Robert L. Adams

April 5, 1942 ~ January 18, 2000

Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Robert Lloyd George Adams, at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, on January 18, 2000 at the age of 57. Survived by his beloved wife Rena (nee Fowler) and sons, Bob Jr, daughter-in-law Sue and grand-children Brittany and Brent. Dear son of the late Charles and Dorothy Adams. Dear brother of Ernie, John, Joyce and the late Ronald. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario. Oshawa This Week, Jan. 18, 2000.

 

Ernest J. Adams

February 23, 1948 ~ March 23, 2009

Age 61 years. Peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, March 23, 2009.

  Beloved husband of Liz (nee Archibald). Loving father of Ernie Jr. and Lisa; Charlene and Jay Knapp; Amanda Adams and Jeff Maher and Jeannie and Scott Brown. Dear grandpa of Melissa, Melanie, Kaytlyn, Austin, Madison, Chantalle and Timothy. Cherished brother of John & Diane Adams and Joyce Adams. Predeceased by his brothers Ronnie & Robert and his parents Charlie and Dorothy. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Rena. 

  Visitation will be held at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 1 p.m. Spring interment Bethesda Cemetery.
