5.3.1.5. Fifth child of Joseph H. Adams and A. Mabel Martin, Bernice Ruth Evelyn Adams, was born March 15, 1916, in Burketon, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
She married David William Bothwell, son of David Bothwell and Elizabeth Hannah Nixon, June 6, 1936, in Courtice, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario and had three children:

Bernice R. Adams Bothwell died November 7, 1984, aged 68 years in Oshawa, Ontario and David W. Bothwell died July 4, 1977, aged 64 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and are interred at Bowmanville Cemetery.

Maple Grove Couple Have 25th Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. David William Bothwell celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday, June 6, 1961 by receiving their relatives and friends at their home in Maple Grove.
The table was centred with a double-ring angel food, decorated in pink and silver flanked on each side with tall white candles and spring flowers. Mrs. Clarence Stainton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bothwell, poured tea and the guests were served by Miss Ria Raaphorst, Mrs. Don Martin and Miss Jane Raaphorst. Miss Barbara Bothwell attended the door and supervised the signing of the guest book.
Many lovely gifts were received from relatives and friends as well as congratulatory cards. Mr. and Mrs. Bothwell expressed their appreciation to their relatives and friends for the lovely gifts.
Friends and relatives attended from Bowmanville, Oshawa, Maple Grove, Enniskillen, Courtice and Hampton.
Mr. Bothwell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bothwell Sr., and Mrs. Bothwell was the former Bernice Adams, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Bothwell were married in 1936 by the Rev. Smith at Courtice Parsonage. They have three daughters, Barbara and Nancy, who are at home, and Shirley, Mrs. Clarence Stainton of Bowmanville. Bernice R. Adams Bothwell
Ill for the past year, Bernice Ruth Evelyn Bothwell, aged 68, passed away in Oshawa General Hospital, on Wednesday, November 7, 1984.
Born in Burketon and educated there and at the Long Sault, she was the daughter of Joseph Adams and Mabel Martin. She was married June 6, 1936, to David William Bothwell.
A former resident of Oshawa, Maple Grove and Enniskillen, she had attended Maple Grove and Enniskillen Churches, and was a member of Maple Grove U.C.W. and was a former secretary of the U.C.W.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Clarence Stainton), Barbara (Mrs. Fred Hogarth) and Nancy (Mrs. Bob Selleck) and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers were Messrs. Wally, John and Don Bothwell, Murray Adams, Bill Selleck and Kevin Buzzell.
Tributes were received in her memory from I.G.A., Rogers Cable, Canadian Cancer Society, Enniskillen United Church, the Gideon Bible Society and Participation House.

David W. Bothwell
March 20, 1913 ~ July 4, 1977
A resident of Maple Grove for almost 51 years, David William Bothwell, aged 64, died in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville on Monday, July 4, 1977, following an illness of six weeks duration.
Son of David and Elizabeth Hannah Bothwell, he was born in Toronto and educated in Toronto, Maple Grove Public School and Bowmanville High School. He was married June 6, 1936 to Bernice Evelyn Adams.
A resident of Oshawa for nine years, he had resided the past four and a half years at 17 Division St., Bowmanville.
Employed as a welder and in machine work for 43 years, he had worked for Frank James, Oshawa for 20 years and in his own business for 23 years, retiring seven years ago.
He was a member of Maple Grove United Church, attending also Sunday School in his younger years.
Surviving are his wife Bernice, daughters Shirley (Mrs. Clarence Stainton), Barbara (Mrs. Fred Hogarth), Nancy (Mrs. Bob Selleck), and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Morris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Arthur Amacher officiating.
Pallbearers were his seven brothers, Norm, Doug, Bob, Albert, Roy, Wally and John Bothwell.
Many beautiful floral tokens were received in his memory as well as 30 donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Bowmanville Statesman, July 20, 1977.
